I had my silver X in a case it’s whole life. I take it off to get ready to sell and notice all this scuffing on the band along the whole band of phone. What the heck is this and how do I polish this out?

Was it cause it didn’t breathe for 11 months?

Grit getting in the case, and causing scratches. Best to take off your case and clean both your phone and case every few days to prevent this. You might be able to polish the stainless steel to remove some of the scratches.

Yup. Particles got in and scuffed it up. I’m hoping this doesn’t happen to the silver Max I’m getting.

What case?? I've had the apple leather case on mine since launch and there's not a mark on it. And I never take it off. I imagine softer cases would move more and cause a problem. The silver is very easy to polish with a Cape cod cloth. Most any metal polish would probably work fine also.

Oh it will, now I know why cheap cases and metal bands don’t go well together. Like me and my Ex! Lol

It’s not just a phone, it’s a piece of expensive material I am trying to resale! Can’t be having scuffs

I clean my phone and case once a week just for this reason...

I just wiped the inside of my case. Wow, not sure why I never thought if it. I am on the ball field 4 days a week!! Doh!

The cloth wil clean it right up. Have those clothes and use it on my X and my SS watch. Gets it beautiful and shiny again! Never had them that scratched up though so YMMV but I think you'll be good.

I used an Apple case for my iPhone X but I took it off and cleaned it ever so often. Might look into that since I have perfect bands.

By the way, time for some new socks bro. Your big toe is saying hi.

Silver iPhone X (aka stainless steel) can be polished though - lots of great tutorials on youtube

Lucky you! the silver model is the best to make it look like new again due to the polishing

so even if it scratches in the future, you can continue to polish it and make it look brand new again

Whatever you do, do _not_ let the Cape Cod cloth come into contact with the display, because it will have a reaction With the oleophobic coating and The abrasives from the cloth can actually scratch the display, so lightly apply it in circles on the stainless bands, but it will remove any micro scratches you have.

Amazon carries these in stock.

Then you must have a mean batting average. Haha. All good jokes is all.

Oh ya, I swing out of my socks!:D
