Darude – Sandstorm

Seriously though, hard to identify from 1 second and the fairly trebly quality. My guess would be a cassette tape playing/chomping.

The beginning sounds like air passing over the mic. There's no tokens being dropped. My best guess would be a nail gun being used.

Yeah there is some mic pickup.

I have no experience with a nail gun. Would that not have more gauge? Like more meatiness?

Depends. Driven into wood, yeah. Most nail guns require the plate to be compressed before air can drive a nail in, but it's pretty easy to mod one to do without it. Whether for personal needs or a really crappy weapon. Initially, I thought it would be a low caliber weapon with a suppression device but those will still sound meaty, even in a huge field in the country. Could be an electric nail gun. Regardless, the sound clip has been altered. The wind noise isn't natural pickup, not to mention the clip itself being low quality.

The main noise sounds very similar to the original. The background noise arose as the original recording was recorded as a voice memo on an iPhone 6
[doublepost=1506053391][/doublepost]It isn’t a weapon
[doublepost=1506053518][/doublepost]Sounds like there is a kind of tensile build up to me. Or a whip/reverb

Any consensus on whether this is a mechanical noise (human created) or an organic noise found in nature? I can imagine it as either.

No clue there. I don’t think it’s a noise in nature, some human/artificial element involved
