Hi, can someone explain what Net Updater is?

It opens every time I reboot my Mac, and its annoying. This empty box on the top left... Is it a native program? using activity monitor I managed to get a bit more info about it, its icon is that of an app, but it doesn't show in my apps folder...

Stumped, usually pretty good with Mac OS, but never seen it before.

If you go to that Activity Monitor process window, then click on the "Open Files and Ports" tab - can you see the path to that net_updater_launcher app?
I DID find a reference to that file when a third-party VPN is installed. Any possibility that you have something like a VPN installed?
