I bought an internal IDE cd drive for one of my older iMacs and I think I was accidentally sent a SATA device instead. Can anyone confirm this?

There are more connections than just SATA and IDE?

He wanted IDE, but that's not IDE, so it doesn't do him much good.

Huh... maybe it's some kind of proprietary notebook module that only fits a connector that company used? There used to be lots of these external drive bay things for Toshibas and other notebooks that used weird connectors.
