What is up with my screen?

Well I sent my MBP in to get it fixed, and when they sent it back, it was totally whacked out. I get Vertical and horizontal black bars. Not sure what's going on. It's going back in for service, but I am rather curious as to what would cause this. Bad Hard Drive?
