I've seen a lot of avatars that have a picture of a pie, the name of the flavor of the pie, and then "3 14 15". One i've seen had a MLP pony instead of a pie. What's up with all these?

Here are some i've seen:

OHH right pi day I forgot about that, that is somewhere around this time.
What's significant about pi day in 2015?

------------
Found on Wikipedia:
Wikipedia said:
In the year 2015, Pi Day will have special significance on 3/14/15 at 9:26:53 a.m. and p.m., with the date and time representing the first 10 digits of π.[12] That same second will also contain a precise instant corresponding to all of the digits of π.[13] However, some argue that 9:26:54 a.m. and p.m. on 3/14/15 are more accurate because of the 11th digit of π being 5, which would cause the 10th digit to round up to 4.

So should I put on some avatar to celebrate it? I've never celebrated Pi day before...

----------

why is it that everyone's pi avatars show "3 14 15" not "3.1415"?
----------
Oh I found out, it's because of 3/14/15 which is March 14, 2015.

Well, here in China it's 15/3/11 right now. Nothing to get riled up about

Oh, yummy, I love raspberry pi. ;)

Why, thank you for your kind words, - and I share your tastes on such things - but - in the interest of full disclosure - I cannot claim any credit for baking, or otherwise producing (or uploading) this particular one.

Mind you, your own elephant and accompanying pi is a true work of art…..and I confess myself most impressed that you designed it yourself. Fantastic.

Ahh, well my statement certainly stands in your case too! But I was talking about Raspberry Pi!:D

Thanks for the compliment, although I should point out I've merely cropped and modified an appropriated image (which I claim is Fair Use in this case). But cheers nonetheless.

I'm tempted to make a goat cheese & spinach pizza pi, but don't want to change my avatar. --3 days to think about it, though.

A bit later.... If anyone fancies a pizza pi, here you go:

Ah, bravo! And thanks for the explanation.

That is one of the reasons I enjoy hanging out here, I get to learn so much that I just wouldn't ever get the opportunity to trip over in my normal day to day life.
