Pff, that's puny. Try this one

As for LEDs on computers, the only legitimate uses are for power and HD activity. Otherwise, it's just stupid.

I think some people go through phases. Maybe those people are looking for flashy things to stand out from the crowd. As for myself, I like discreet things as I don't want to draw unwanted and unnecessary attention. Oftentimes, it is very good to be anonymous. If I win a $300 million lottery, I think I will change my name and move to a different place so that I can keep my privacy.

As far as cars with neon lights underside of the chassis, I just cannot understand the purpose of it. It's a cop magnet and why do they want to get extra attention from the law enforcement. I prefer low key colored car so that I can speed (I speed, baby; I need to get from point a to pint b quick during the day).

Regarding the fart can (i.e.. large tail pipe), I heard those extra large exhaust opening sometimes has negative effect on the car's performance (i.e.. cars will loose some horsepower because of back-pressure from the tail pipe). But, usually, those fart cans are only for the tip of the tail pipe; usually the rest of the exhaust system is stock.

Easy

They're compensating.

(For an inferior OS, of course).

I don't get it, either - especially the ones that change color. How can you walk into a meeting with one of those and be taken seriously? (Of course, those people would say the same about me walking into meetings with a Macbook Pro).

;)

Wow, somebody messaged me on iChat about this...

.... Nice.

I most certainly think so! :D

This chap has evidently never seen the pics that I have of people modding their Macs (be it a Power Mac G5/G4, PowerBook G4, etc...).

It is ironic that PC users can go out and buy or build any case they want for their machine, yet invariably the result ends up being boring, tacky, fugly, or some combination. You just can't compete with Apple's design team.

Yup

See - compensating.

Or gets no sleep because of the blinking lights.

Or was dumped by a girlfriend who couldn't sleep because of the blinking lights.

Or didn't get enough light as a child (locked in the closet often?)

:D

I know I be childish, but I can't stop laughing...

Did he tell you to cut your mullet?:p

I hate computers with 20+ LED lights. such a waste of money, electricty, and they just don't look that good. I don't like souped up PC's, do you really need that much processing power, and look, or are you just a total dork who sits and admires your computer all day long?

But they make it so much easier to see in their mother's basement...

I think that the LED indicators on computers are basically a hold over from older computers, where they were seen as a useful feature. Now PC laptops often have 6 or 8 LEDs that tell you everything you need to know in a single glance....if you know what they all mean. ;)

Are LED's the things that light up PC cases? If so I hate those things. They drive me nuts whenever I look at them.

*feels stupid*
Why ...

feels stupid = adult

looks cool = 14 year old or younger

well I built a PC with one of those fancy cases and all sorts of LED lights. Yeah after about a month I desided I hated it and got a new case that was a bit more funitional and did not have all the LED lights.

There are only a few lights I like my computer having. 1 LED to tell me the computer one. another LED light to tell if the hard drive is being used. and then the LED light on each opical drive to tell me when it being used. But since they are not bright mostly just telling me basicly info at at a glace it quite helpful.

Not having the hard drive and the opical drive lights on macs bother me.

Some people get wrap up in flashy cases. My currently PC case lets see has a few stickers on the side of it. And Acrilic window (I like to see the inside of electrics plus it helpfu check on the inside of the case with out opening it up). and LED intake fan that hads a little to the looks but mostly gives me light for the frount part of the case when I am looking in to it.

in the dark you can hardly see it. Mostly everything has a useful funition on it.

hahaha... why would you want to mod something so beautiful in the first place?

Well, everyone gets their kicks somehow. I personally can't stand lit-up cases. I find them distracting and gaudy. (My boss just got one and I laughed him out of the office) I'd probably rather poke my eyes out with a rusty knife than be stuck using one of those day in and day out. Ok, perhaps that is a TAD exaggerated, but you get my point. But I'm not gonna knock anyone who mods their cases with such. For some computing is a way of life, their passion, so to speak. Eh, to each his own, I guess.

No, the glass of wine I just drank has NOTHING to do with the positivity in my post.
