iPhone XR What is wrong with the screen on my phone?

If you look at the bottom of the screen there are rainbow looking shapes that go along the bottom. The brighter the screen the more noticeable it is.

Any idea what it is? Phone isn’t in warranty anymore it’s a launch XR.

Never been near water.

It seemed to appear after having the phone under the sun on a hot day and has got worse ever since.

Wanted to know if anyone else had experienced this as I’ve not seen anything like it before online.

since the problem occurred after leaving it in the sun.

I definitely agree it’s from sun exposure. (However, it shouldn’t continue to Deteriorate) Leaving your phone out under the sun can damage in a matter of a few minutes or less, even indoors, the display is not safe from sun exposure.

Take it back to Apple, they may replace it if it’s less than 2 years old. Then again if you’re not in Europe, your consumer rights may be different.
