What is wrong with yahoo mail?

I open yahoo mail app and nothing is showing in the inbox? Nothing showing in the sent folder or draft folder. What is wrong with yahoo mail?

I have not sign into yahoo mail for some time and now nothing is showing there what is wrong with yahoo mail?

Penguin has a point:
Have you tried logging into the web-based version of yahoo, to see if that is working for you?

For years, I've used email providers (ISPs and other) that have "off-loaded" their email functions over to the yahoo email system.

And for years, I've found that the yahoo servers and system can sometimes get finicky with Apple's Mail.app.

OP:
What version of the OS are you using?

Also:
You could try going to the "Internet accounts" pane in system settings
and then
Delete and re-create the email account for Yahoo.
IMPORTANT: doing this will NOT delete your emails -- it just re-does the account settings.

Something else:
On older versions of the Mac OS, it seemed to me that the OS itself (and the Mail.app) was not capable of dealing with something in the authentication process that yahoo required.
In this case, I had to go to yahoo's site and create something called "an application-specific password" to get Mail to work. It was a real pain to get working...

If I sign into yahoo mail using the browser not the app it is still not displaying any thing.

I just tried logging into yahoo mail using the web-based interface, and it was problematic.
I did get on, but it took a few attempts.
This is in southern New England 10.30am, Wed Jan 21.

I use the web interface regularily. Usually from Android or Windows. I only occasionally do so on macOS. For this email access I typically use Firefox on macOS, Edge on Windows, and Samsung Internet on Android. I've found all 3 a bit flaky at times, but usually they all work well.

Just a update yahoo mail today is still not showing any email.

It does not matter if I use app or the web browser.

Try going to yahoo mail (either with Mail.app or a browser).
Compose a new message, and send it to yourself.
Then see if it will a) send and b) come back to you.

I don’t know what happen to thousands of email I had there? How could it be deleted or removed?

I’m getting new email now but I can’t find the thousands of email I had there?

It's working fine (in Safari) for me. You need to contact yahoo mail support. It has nothing to do with the Apple end of things.

How long has it been since you checked your email. Maybe Yahoo marked the account as dormant and deleted everything. Contact Yahoo support.

I just got this email from yahoo in my inbox today and I'm very angry.

I have a yahoo email account that I use for junk purposes. I don't see any mail in there since the 26th. A message I sent to it 20 minutes ago hasn't arrived.

Are you saying yahoo is lying and is sending this email out to other members?

*snip*

I hadn't logged into my Yahoo account ever since they did away with the My Yahoo landing page. I just logged in and have the same email. I'm not upset myself... the writing has been on the wall for years that they were in a steep decline and it was inevitable that any services they provide couldn't be relied upon.

I had hundreds of email in my inbox, sent folder, draft folder and other folders that are not showing up.

It does not matter if I lunch the app again or sign in by a web browser.

Yes. Per the email, if you'd been inactive long enough, they cleared it all out. You didn't say exactly how long it had been since you had last logged in, but if you were still active on an ongoing basis (your first post implied differently), then obviously they screwed up. In any event, this isn't a service you should have been relying on for anything critical. Besides the fact that their email service was free, Yahoo has not been thriving in some years now and doesn't have any apparent path to recovery. You really should have backed these up if they were important.
