I installed Ventura on my thunderbolt drive (As a clean install). Was totally blown away by how snappy it felt, how every app that I use was working perfectly. And some apps (Lightroom classic) seemed to be way snappier while editing.

Since I have lived most on my life with this "can't wait and will install beta software" thing, I wiped my main partition and clean installed Ventura. Besides a bug where Lightroom would not pick the monitor color profile (fixed after resetting Lightroom), I am yet to see an issue.

But then I thought, it might be placebo right? So I clean installed Monterey on my TB drive and NO!!! It's not placebo. Mac OS 13 is much faster/snappier and all the good things I hoped for. Maybe it's metal 3, I don't know.

My system config is Mac Studio Ultra / Pro Display XDR.

So far I have rendered and delivered 3 projects to may clients and chugging away on a render in Davinci as I write.

I am hopeful!!!! 😁

I’m of the same thought process…

It’s the new version of Safari which has me holding off. Applying to med school right now and I don’t want to break the online portal…

But you’d better believe I’m upgrading the day I submit it 😂

Why are we judging the first beta seed of a major OS release? I mean it's great that it's working well but let Apple have room to make mistakes. Is Apple somehow obligated to provide stable beta seeds? Beta =/= Production, let's keep it that way.

am anxious too about this (in my case, 3rd-party plugins in logic pro). i've been thru all sorts of hell over the years in previous OS betas. but that, of course, won't stop me from diving into the public beta next month 🤣

EDIT: it's great to explore the threads on the ventura forum before the public beta people show up... and the incessant whining and ranting begins; developers, at least, understand the concept of a beta.
I always look forward to your incessant whining and rantin. 😄😄

that’s what we do here. We expect perfection on the first early beta.
