My phone does what a phone should do when receiving a call– it rings.

Most of the time, though, it's on silent or vibrate. Very few things are more annoying than ringtones. :)

For general calls, it is the U2 version of mission impossible. It tends to get my attention. I assign regular callers individual ringtones, based on what I think suits them.

For unidentified callers, I chose a warning siren that was on the phone. Unidentified numbers are almost always calls I would rather not take.

Kinda random, but does anyone know how to get an MP3 or WAV file or whatever format is needed from my computer to a Motorola V180 as a ringtone? Just curious if I could make my own...

Some stupid crap.

My Sony Ericsson doesn't just have a normal ringer on it.

If anybody has just a normal ring tone on their phone can they please upload it, I'd much appreciate it.

Calls: Introduction of Sugar We're Going Down by Fall Out Boy. I'm not the only one to have this it seems.

Messages: Inroduction of Eric Clapton's Layla.

full midi of Gary Newman- Cars :D

just because Vince Noir had that in the first series of Mighty Boosh. "ooooooh!!! ice flow, nowhere to go! Lost in the blinding whiteness of the tuuuundraaaa!"

:)

Fleetwood Mac - Albatross, Tales of the Unexpected (TV Theme), War of the Worlds (Jeff Wayne) or Land of Hope and Glory

oop forgot to add my message tone is Rule Britannia as taken from the Last night of the Proms.

John Williams Imperial March (well it couldn't be anything else, right?) monotone. Had to punch it in myself on my old T68i, to make an .imy file:

Code:
BEGIN:IMELODY
VERSION:1.2
FORMAT:CLASS1.0
MELODY:e2r3e2e3e2r3c2g3e2r3c2g3e2r3r3r3r3b2r3b2b3b2r3*5c2g3e2r3c2g3e2
END:IMELODY

Standard ring tone, nothing special.

To be honest, I don't care what it is so long as it's not the "Nokia Tune".

Even Crazy Frog's better than that thing.

The theme from The Exorcist (Tubular bells) edited to loop.

Opening guitar figure from Rush's Spirit of Radio also set to loop.

Intro to Purple Haze.

All in MP3 all very loud to annoy other train passengers...

I also have the vibrate on cos I can't hear the phone with the iPod running, please give me a Bluetooth mute on my iPod...

My favourite is an mp3 which I recorded at a football match against Brentford Fc, the whole of the home crowd chanting "Martin Allen is a w*nker" for my football buddies, I love it when they call me when I'm in a quiet meeting at work, childish I know but worth the disapproving looks, others are the opening sequence to Black Sabbath for work, bank, dentist and anyone else money related, Dueling Banjo's for my Canadian and American friends and just an ordinary ring for family.

I'm with you on that... (apart from the Crazy Frog comment!)

Depends on who's calling,

wife = X-files theme (no, really it's a good thing. She loves the show :p )
mother = law and Order theme
work = circus music

Mine neither! It's an old skool Nokia, and just has a load of irritating high pitched tunes. I usually have mine on completely silent or vibrate, but for when I do need an audible ring, there is nothing on there that wouldn't make me die of embarrassment. I got my musically inclined brother to program in the opening bars to "Zak and Sara" which is just about bearable, and is vaguely repetitive in a ringtone-type-fashion. I do long for a subtle "normal ring" though. :(
