I hope no one says dongles lol. My favorite accessory is actually Magic Trackpad, which may seem odd because there's already a huge trackpad on the 2019 base model which I have. But I like placing the trackpad to the right of the laptop.

It also serves as a "remote" for me. When I'm laying down on the couch and have my MacBook Pro on the table at a distance watching news and TV, I use my magic trackpad as a "remote"

Very useful.

iPhone.

Features like VLC remote, continuity camera, iTunes remote, iCloud integration, shared Safari browsing experience etc. The Mac and the iPhone are great standalone, but using them together is fantastic.

Not totally sure if you're serious or not :D

VLC remote - VLC on my Macbook, MacBook plugged into TV playing movie through HDMI. VLC remote on the iPhone let's me control VLC on the Macbook (and therefore TV).

Continuity Camera - scan directly from the iPhone camera into a document on my MacBook.

iTunes remote. Can have my MacBook in one room playing music via iTunes to a wifi speaker in another room, and from that room I can change songs from the iPhone.

iCloud integration. I might see a webpage on my phone and think "I should keep that". I can PDF it and dump it too iCloud. From there it's automagically available on my MacBook.

Shared safari browsing. I can be reading a page on my MacBook and then if I leave to head to the office or whatever my phone knows which pages my MacBook has open, and vice versa.

Those are just a few that come to mind, there are many.

First Place: Kind of an accessory - a NAS that has 18TB of storage. (24TB in RAID 5)

If I need to do any work I have all of the storage I would ever need on my local network. Video editing time? I can copy all the files needed to my laptop. Sync files between Macs? Copy them to and from the NAS.

Helps me get away with the paltry amount of local storage.

Second Place: USB C dongle with USB 3.0 ports + a 128GB thumb drive to increase storage on the go.

Yeah along with decent wifi, they’re incredibly useful too. And as a Time Machine target too!

I use the Magic Trackpad along with the Magic Keyboard 2 with external monitors. I like the Amazon Laptop stand (metal).

I have a Razr gaming mouse from like ... 8? Years ago when I used to play WoW on my right, the trackpad on my left. I use it to swipe pages when I’m browsing and other gestures.

Favorite accessory? My Anker dongle (sorry) - that HDMI’s out to my monitor, has Ethernet, and several USB 3.0 ports (for my mouse, etc...).

Time capsule is great for saving movies and sharing them to the iPad or the Apple TV

Works great !

Don’t use it as a back up anymore but love it for sharing videos and pictures and music to Apple TV and iPad Pro

I don't play favourites with accessories. There is a bunch of things that I use for my work, and they are all useful and necessary in their own way. If the question was "imagine you need to get rid of all but one fo your accessories, which one would you keep" I'd probably say the charger. Can't do much without it. Although I would miss my TM-enabled NAS as well.

Definitely my TwelveSouth BookBook case. I love the styling and that I'm not resting any part of my hand on the front edge of the MacBook itself which is kinda sharp.

^ This is awesome. Must be great for preventing dust from getting in, and extending the butterfly keyboard's longevity.

Does it leave any marks on the screen?

No, it doesn't, that I notice anyways. They have other colors as well. I think mint green, black, pink, purple, and all clear.
