Plug your iPod into your computer. When iTunes loads, your iPod will show up in the left side navigation pane in iTunes. Click twice slowly on the iPod's name, and then you should be able to type in that field, changing its name. Voila.

I am new to the whole iPod thing. I was wondering if someone could give me instructions on how to change what I accidently named my iPod. I really would like to change it and it is frustarated me that I cannot. Thanks alot!!

you would have to restore it and then from there itunes will ask u to name it etce etc

What the applemacdude is not true. In iTunes, just double-click on the iPod in the left sidebar.
Got my first iPod 10days before Christmas and named it "shuffle bottom".
I love it but;
1) Downloading the Ricky Gervais PodCasts makes me look stoopid as I walk through town laugh out loud to stuff nobody else can hear.
2) I wish it had a screen, a single line B&W would be fine, but it was a gift so a can't complain.

Sort of, AFAIK, it's just a limitation of FAT32, the file system format that Windows-formatted iPods use. The biggest positive of FAT32 though, is that you can use it with Macs too. It can be used across both platforms.
