I've seen some great selections in the "desktop wallpaper" threads, but the notification center is its own unique area. How are you guys (and gals) decorating this space?

I had one that was the banner from the iPhone 5 announcement, but after the last Safari update it disappeared.

I was going to post mine, but it's NSFW so I thought I'd err on the side of caution. ;)

I really enjoy this style. Is there a certain size I would need for the image since it's a non repeating style? I assume I can find one that is about the same pixel height as my monitor and I would guess 256 pixels wide?

I think it depends on the image itself, but for mine I had success at around 450X900.

Sital is right, usually I have my width about 450 - 500 pixels wide. The height is based on my screen resolution size, so for that one my resolution was 1900 x 1200 so I made the height 1200. It looks fine when I'm unplugged from the monitor too when I'm on my 13 inch MBA. Sometimes the width of the image gets cropped so I try to focus in the image of what I want. For this notification, the width was 476 x 1900. Hope this helps.

A bit of Battlefield 3, which means I had to switch up all my desktop backgrounds from Halo to keep it consistent. ;)

The screen shot shows a width of 300 and my crop of this image (originally had the entire silhouette of the soldier) was 498. Still pleased with the results. I'm so glad I found this thread, otherwise I would have never known about changing the image.
