So, a question for everyone who is planning to get an iPhone 15. By how much prices need to increase for you to say no. How much is too much?

For a 2TB iPhone 15 PM/Ultra my limit would be £1,900. Anything more than that and we are looking at double the cost since the iPhone X was launched and that price was seen as excessive at £999 😂

For the lackluster regular iPhone the $799 are too much already. Does anything suggest Apple is going to raise prices? I would only get a pro model with the LTPO panel to begin with, I'd rather get a year old pro that has better hardware than the latest non-pro model. And for the latest pro model $999 is my limit. Or at least I've never considered the other storage options since USB2.0 was too slow to really make use of it, perhaps with USB-C that changes on iPhones for the first time.

If the 15 is more than $200 over the 14, that'd be enough for me to consider downgrading the storage or possibly wait another year.

These devices are getting so expensive... Yes, you get some for trade in but especially for the larger storage sizes, Apple resale (to Apple itself) is horrific.

£1250 is my limit for the Pro and £1400 is my limit if there is an Ultra version this year with enough specs to justify the choice over the regular Pro model.

I upgrade yearly so I'm just as giddy as others about upgrading, but I think my price limit would be $1500.

It depends on what new features exist. Therefore the question cannot be answered until 9/12. Due to vision changes I am moving to the Max size, but I could go with a 14 Pro Max if the 15 price went way up.

But TBH odds are that I will buy a 15 Pro Max no matter what the price is.

5-7% YoY, basically anything 4% above inflation ... Ugh, thinking about it makes me violently ill. But it's all write-offs anyways 😋

$1399 for a 256 Pro Max is my limit

Trading in a 12 Pro. $360 trade-in right now. Hopefully it retains a $275-$300 price after the announcement.

Thank you very much for reminding us about this! £999 was painful then, look where we are at now…

It must be said that Apple are pushing what’s reasonable every year, or actually we are kind of beyond but they have managed to blind us. Yes, yes, it very much depends on e.g. the payback models there is from the operators etc, but come on, it is a lot of money into phones now. If you think about it, and how not sustainable it is, it’s crazy. Haha will stop ranting now.

That said, I’m thinking more in lines of keeping a phone much longer than before. Which makes me more inclined to buy the top of the line to make it last as long as possible, with as much storage as possible…. Kind of a paradox isn’t it. So with that thinking, let’s say you can have a iPhone at least 5 years, and you should have a cost of max £300 a year, gives £1500 max. But that’s a 5 year investment then! How many of us can start having a phone 5 years…

Seeing that one night in a Manhattan hotel in September can go for over 6 grand a night. I laugh at a price of an iPhone that would make me me hesitate. Want to know what would make me hesitate - lack of a sim card tray. Sad but true…
