What is your primary use of your iPad? Most used Apps? Mine is weather tracking. My number one app is RadarScope with the tier 2 subscription. But I have pretty much every weather app, and about 60 NWS pages bookmarked in Safari.

I pretty much use my iPad Pro for everything. I really don't run into issues where the iPad can't do what I need it to do. I guess I'm not a "power user", but I'm very picky about my computing devices and the iPad is the best one I've had.

Mine is my primary machine. I am actually obsessed with my 12.9.

In the morning, I read all my news and consume as much media as possible. I take it to work along with my laptop, but mostly use it in meetings and then when I’m out seeing clients. It’s so good when you’re out and you need to catch up with work and answer emails. Then at home, again it’s about media consumption.

The only times I use my laptop are for Excel and Keynote. I feel like it’s the only place where the iPad lacks.

great post! what size do you have?

Full Laptop Replacement

Same. I use the 12.9 for everything I would use a laptop for (I work on my ipad full time), plus pretty much everything you would use an ipad for (games, consumption). I use my Air 2 for almost all of the same things— the downside of smaller screen and no ASK, but the up side of being compact and light and easy to throw in my purse.

12.9 iPP:
- Drawing/note-taking
- Extended display for laptop

iPad mini:
- Ebooks

These are my ipads’ specific one or two key functions. I use them for much more, but the rest are more or less bonus functions, because while the iPads can do them well, I can also do them well on my phone or laptop. These key functions can only be done well on my iPads.

My iPad Pro has completely replaced my personal laptop although I still have a PC for gaming and when I need a "real computer". The most common things I do with it are reading the news and handling email. That's stuff I do on a daily basis, both in the morning and at night. I also frequently use it to manage my home server (via Prompt 2). It's also used for all the typical internet things, like web browsing, youtube, netflix, etc.

I use it all the time. Having the Smart Keyboard, or any keyboard really, makes it much more useful for me.

First gen iPad Pro 9.7"

1. Reading Reddit in Apollo (switch to macOS if I'm going to post something)
2. Watching videos (YouTube, Netflix, Hulu)
3. Reading web forums with Tapatalk (using macOS to post this)
4. Some Safari web browsing
5. Kindle Reader (although I prefer my e-Ink devices for reading books)
6. Shop manuals (Evernote) when I'm working on my car in the garage.

60% of the time in bed, 40% of the time on my sofa while "watching" TV I'm not paying attention to. The iPad rarely leaves my house.

Roughly 0% of my work (software development) can be performed on an iPad, so it's strictly an entertainment device.

Ulysses, OneNote, Word, Procreate, Airmail, Outlook, Affinity Photo, Instapaper, iBooks for PDFs and technical manuals.

I have a Paperwhite I do most of reading on.

Same here. And I’d guess our uses are the same as the majority, which is why iPads can totally replace “laptops” for most people
