I'm going to try and buy the T-Mobile version full retail and see if I can pop my Verizon SIM into it. Still waiting to see if this works :(

I was planning on paying full retail price for an unlocked 6S, but the new Apple Upgrade Plan is very very tempting and I may end up taking that route.

Still undecided as well. Unless I read it wrong you have to make an appointment to go inside an Apple Store to complete the purchase. Would have to travel a ways to do that myself.

Pay in full.

Speaking of which - The Apple Store App's "Get Ready to Preorder" option only shows carrier options after carrier authentication. Since I'll be purchasing in Full, this really doesn't matter, right?

I was expecting to see "Next Plan" and "Pay in full" or something. But I just see Next.

Yes. The phone installment plan is seperate from your carriers data plan if you purchase through Apple. ATT Next plan will include your installment plan for the phone all on one bill.
Ok can I just pay the $399 and not do the installment plan?

My 2 year plan is ending in October and I finally got them to move my upgrade date to Sept but they must do it over the phone after it goes on sale,so that means Saturday morning with a call to Customer Relations. I considered going to Prepaid but they don't allow FAN discount,21% for me,so that was a deal breaker.

No point in paying full retail when carrier financing is interest free. I'll walk into Apple and buy an unlocked 6S Plus using T-Mobile financing and afterwards sell my current 6+ for $500 or more to offset the cost.
