dumb question

once this is downloaded in cydia, does it just "work" ?

or do i need to enable it somehow?

thanks

it just works, and thats what i did not like about it and uninstalled it. there is no way to enable or disable it... it just runs.

is there a way to turn on the led flash without having to run an app? Like through using activator or something?

Spring Flash in Cydia. You can customize in Activator. I've got mine set so when I press and hold the home button, led turns on. :)

cool, thanks! i'm getting my i4 tmrw!

and does it have to be unlocked? or can it activate it when its in sleep mode?

I have my LED set to "swipe status bar from right to left."

It works from the lockscreen, but since its a touch gesture you have to have the screen on.

I think I'm going to change to holding the lock button, that way its one touch.

Yeah, if you change to the home button like I did, you can turn on the led without even turning on the phone. Very useful.

It's a shame the first five pages of this thread are the same five apps being listed again and again. It's a shame people don't like to read or this thread just doesn't get edited to maybe list everything in the first post instead. Who really wants to read 7 pages now just to get a couple program names?

This thread could have been better.

well, why don't you contribute a bit then? the thread is called what JB apps are a must for iphone4, not a thread called "let's listen to hackthatphone poster bitch and bitch like a little whiny girl!" people were posting what apps they find helpful in their own experience. if you cannot draw some conclusion that people like these particular apps, I would think your intelligence would come to that conclusion after maybe 4 pages. but I guess I was wrong....

you obviously are not the brightest bulb in the room. quick complaining and move on.

Woody, you should calm down. :) He has a valid point... the idea of the OP was to find out what good apps there are. If someone says "what's good games to have" and 20 people say checkers it's pointless to repeat over and over again, whereas if someone only contributes something noone else has, it's more productive, otherwise, he keeps getting the same answer.

You should stop name-calling (you called him dumb, ala "not the brightest bulb" which is prohibited on MR. I agree with him, no sense in people posting the same apps. It's not "Post YOUR apps" it's "Post the most useful apps", so no need to re-post what others have... keep the thread productive :)

But on the other hand, if one person says 'App ABC is great', it's an individual opinion. If I'm following the discussion and ten people mention the same app, it becomes much more of a recommendation. So although, when I come to a thread like this late, I wish the first post got edited to summarise the discussion, I appreciate it more when I can see that many people all swear by the same app, often with reasons and descriptions.

TT

Five-Icon Dock looks SILLY without Five-Column Springboard, we need that updated for iOS 4\iPhone 4 resolution really really bad. I have five icons in the dock but only 4 columns above it so it looks really really BAD. :)

Five-Cloumn SB works for 4.0.1. I've had it for over 2 weeks now and it works perfectly.

My favorite JB-apps (iOS 4 & iPhone 4):

- SBSettings (with Serious SBSettings HD)
- XPandr (great shortcut-expander)
- Winterboard (themes manager)
- Wi-Fi Sync (enables wireless syncing with iTunes)
- Activator (activation of apps an plugins via gestures)
- biteSMS (replacement of the built-in SMS app)
- Firewall iP (monitoring and control of outgoing connections, a musthave!)
- Infinidock (enables scrolling of the dock and manages the icons, replaces Five Icon Dock)
- Infinifolders (lifts the restriction of the 12-app-limit of the folders)
- Insomnia (maintains the WiFi connection, even when the screen switches off)
- Insomnia Toggle for SBSettings
- Remove Background SBSettings Toggle (removes/kills all apps)
- Autolock SBSettings (manages autosleep)
- SBSettings VPN Toggle
- Lockinfo (in my opinion the best lockscreen-app)
- Notifier (adds taskbar notifications. Must manually install libstatusbar)
- OpenSSH (enables remote access to the iPhone; SSH/FTP)
- PDF Patch (protects against the known PDF exploit)
- qTweeter (best Twitter & Facebook updater! Slide-in feature)
- Rotation Inhibitor (manages screen-rotation via SBSettings)
- SnapTap (take pictures using the volume controls)
- SpringFlash (enable flashlight via Activator setting)
- Glasklart HD Theme (icon theme)
- CyDelete (uninstall Cydia-apps directly from the springboard)
- Cyntact (show profile pictures in the contact list)
- iFile (a file manager and viewer)
- SBRotator (enables springboard-rotation)
- Action Menu & Action Menu Plus Pack (additional clipboard action, e.g. Favorites, History, ...)
- Snappy (opens a camera app from anywhere, even from the lockscreen)
- Multifl0w (Exposé for iOS)
- Exchange Unlock (no need to type in a security code)
- iLock (replaces code-input in the lockscreen with the android-like unlock method)
- ForwardMsgFix 4.0 (from apt.iphone-storage.de/ disables the Call Forwarding message)
- Call Controller (manages the behavior of receiving calls)
- MobileVolumeSound (adds the volume sound known from Mac OS X)
- MusicBarExtended (additional themed music controller accessible through activator gesture. be sure to get several MBEx-Themes)
- Push Notification Toggle
- Notified Pro (enhanced notification app)
- Notified Pro Grip
- Notification Bar for Notified Pro
- SwitcherPlus (tweak some settings with the apple task switcher. repo: www.switcherplus.com/cydia/spbeta1.0)
- MultiIconMover
- MyProfiles
- FakeClockUp (http://cydia.pushfix.info)
- OverBoard

still not iOS 4 compatible:
- Orbit
- proSwitcher
- MobileTerminal
- ReflectiveDock
- Safari Tab Closer
- Sleep To Lock

Have to add Locktopus to the list. Allows you to individually lock apps from the springboard.

I've been using iFile for a few days now. No problems on my IP4 at all.

Bella, take a look the date that "hackthatphone" joined MR; he or she had just joined MR, and right away, the very few first posts that they posted is to just complained about everything. I by all means would not want to be hostile and be welcoming the new members, heck, I still feel very new, but at least I knew better not to piss people right away.

Like the other poster below you said, if something that gets posted over and over, sure, we do know that this is something everyone like, and you should draw to your own conclusion. The OP's question was posted to everybody, as what JB apps are a must, for you...so I think everyone answered accordingly to their own accords. Hackthatphone should just have better common sense to know about this. More importantly, he should have better tact than posted his thread.

In a perfect world, it would be nice to just look at the very first post of the thread, and get a "cliff's notes" version out of it. But part of being in a internet forum, is the interaction and see what other people have to say....don't you agree?
