Do you get the car manufacturer Renault in America

No.

Can't go wrong with a Japanese car.

Sure you can:

We've got an '01 Olds Alero and a '97 Honda Odyssey. The Olds is pretty nice(actually, not really, but for what it replaced(a '95 stick Saturn with absolutely no options whatsoever, that was dirt cheap and our only new car, ever), its extremely nice. It even has a sunroof! And the Honda's served us well for eight years now, and its just what we need. I'll miss her when she goes.(if she ever does! Nothing major's broken yet, only mild stuff like reseating a power window). Not much in the way of options on that model, either. *le sigh* I want to know how some of you are able to afford these uber nice cars that you have. I'd like to know your secret.

Oh, and to get back on topic(whew, I caught myself!), they're American and Japanese, respectively. Not necessarily because we prefer one vehicle nationality over the other, they're just what we wound up choosing.

Where in the world is that a Buick? I can't believe that they would do something so...ugly looking. It's a Pontiac around here, FWIW(USA)

BMW and Maserati

European cars FTW :) Though the Japanese companies do make great econoboxes that we use for commuters :)

Nothing looks as bad as the Pontiac Aztec.

The Ridgeline looks a bit different from conventional trucks, but at least Honda put the thought into giving their truck a bit of thought rather than making "another truck".

Anyway, I don't mind the look of the Ridgeline, and I don't really care for trucks.

Actually, appearance has nothing to do with it. As far as pickups go, the Ridgeline is about as a lousy as you can get. It's built on an Odyssey frame. 'Nuff said.

i drive a blue smart car?

so thats german? uk? im not sure

German. Daimler owns Smart.

American and German. Two Chevy's, one Saturn, and one BMW. Happy with all of them. Though the BMW is the best vehicle in the garage. Not due to reliability, but for its power and agility. :D

Well, it was also a Buick Rendezvous, wasn't it? It looked 100 % better, though. ;)

I love/hate my VW Golf, which was built in Germany while the New Beetles were being ramped up in Mexico. My 1985 Mazda RX-7 was built in Japan but it's not doing much right now.

I thought that Smart was Swiss.

I drive a 1998 Honda Civic HX CVT coupe that is designed in Japan but mostly assembled in the USA. :D The only thing that seems to come from Japan on that car is the CVT automatic transmission.

I drive a screamin' '97 Mercury Villager. Even though it's an American brand, the engine is a Mitsubishi and is the most reliable, well-built part of the car.

Mitsubishi engine? I find that odd in a Ford product, considering it was Chrysler that partnered with them, and the Villager was designed along with Nissan (and sold as the first generation Quest).

Agreed, it makes for a crappy truck. Spare tire under the bed floor is a bad idea, IRS isn't great for towing, it's just UGLY. Heck, I only saw them with dealer plates for about 8 months after they were introduced. I don't know what MT was smoking when the picked it as Truck of the Year.

Granted, they also had "Performance Wars" with a Z06, an M3, and a Boxster. The Z06 trounced the other two (not surprising), but they picked the M3 on price.

Same here. The only part I've found that ISN'T made in Japan are the bulbs in the headlights (Sylvania, Germany). Tires (B'stone), wheels (Enkei), DBW throttle sender (Denso, yes I took it out last week :D), brakes (I forget who) are all Japanese manufacturers. I think the A/C compressor is Hitachi too.
