Just got my first iPod Touch and first iPod for that matter (thank you student discount!)

That being said, I have a couple friends with cases and was wondering what kind of case should I get? How much should I go around spending? Are screen protectors necessary also? Thanks in advance!

Screen protectors aren't necessary, but always helpful. With the chrome backing of your iPod though, a case is a must-have. I personally recommend the Switcheasy RebelTouch ($28 after tax and shipping, www.switcheasy.com), which offers excellent protection, great grip, and screen protectors to boot.

Expect to pay $20-$30 for the very best cases, provided you don't need one rated to survive a nuclear explosion.

Also, is there a way for me to download apps with my iTunes account WITHOUT connecting a bank/credit card to it? Didn't know it was so much trouble to download free apps >_>

I like the look of the Rebel, Neo, and Torrent. The Rebel seems to be most popular though.
