i use a case when i workout or when outdoors for obvious reasons. otherwise, its naked. theres really no risk as long as you treat your phone like a phone, and not a buttery piece of aluminum.

I prefer naked or close to it. I switch between skins or a Caudabe Veil thin case. I probably lean more towards to the Caudabe just given how thin it is.

Thin case person. Got a Caudabe Veil recently and have stopped looking at cases altogether. Until it breaks. Then I suppose I'll get another one.

I am also a switcher. I have the 5S and currently switch between the otterbox defender and the apple leather case. My hands are large so the otterbox from works great for me. it's much more usable now that they have taken care of the screen protector clarity issue. The apple leather case feels great and is thin, so I switch to that as well. Both cases have been dropped on cement and did their job well. When I go without a case it is with the invisible shield hd with the back cover. So I guess I took care of the favorite brands to hate there

The reason I'm asking is because I want to know if I should use a case or not on my 5S. And if I need a case, I want to know what kind of case.
How does asking others tell you what you prefer? You need to decide based on your preferences -- not random preferences from other people. The risks and compromises that you're willing to take determine whether you should get a case or not and which case you should get. All polling does is tell you what's popular. What's popular and what one prefers are two entirely different things.

Lifeproof all the way home. That is what you should do if you pay $650 for an iPhone, ya know...just common sense.

I prefer to actually enjoy my device instead of wrapping it in a bubble wrap box.

For me common sense is to enjoy the things the way I like them and not worry about it. That's just my life common sense.

I'm a TPU case person. Clear is the way I always go. I hate those plastic hard cases that are very difficult to remove. They scratch your phone and they don't even protect your phone that well. I don't know why people even buy those there are better cases out there in the market.

What kind of case do you use? Are you:
• The overprotective: buys Otterbox defender or armor or Life proof case
• Fashionista: buys cases for glam, not for protection
• The accesorizer: buys cases with built in wallets, stands, etc.
• The risk taker: doesn't use a case
• The animal lover: buys a case with an animal shape or picture on the back
• The average joe: buys a normal case just for the sake of having a case on.

I move fluidly back and forth between fashionista and accessorizor. I have a LOT of cases. I have the Apple leather case in a variety of colors (red, blue, black) but don't particularly care for it as dust tends to collect in the camera cutout. I have the BookBook case by 12 South that I like to use when traveling, and I also have a ZeroChroma case with the swiveling 360º stand. For the last couple of weeks have been using the Evutec Karbon S wood case and the Evutec Karbon S snap case in black. Both have Dupont Kevlar and are light but strong, though neither offers much screen protection. But I'm not prone to dropping.
