What kind of flash drive should I use to plug into my MacBook Pro to save documents I am writing on my MS Word program? Would just about any of them work or do I need something special?

Nothing special needed. Just get a good sized one. You'll never be sorry for having a large capacity one.

I like this one --- http://www.adorama.com/idsdcfu3128g...SVJe92W_xthrKtmMC1Dpnz1LKz9Qd_HeZoaAl-v8P8HAQ

If you have USB-C, I found this little adapter that works well.

Suggestions:

BEFORE you use any flashdrive, re-initialize it to "Mac format" (HFS+ with journaling enabled).
Things just go better that way.

BE AWARE that HFS+ drives cannot be read by PC's (unless they are running special software).

If you need to move files between the Mac and PC's, use a SECOND flashdrive, formatted for the PC.
