I'm a photographer and I've been using Lightroom on a 13 inch MB Alum. Late 2008 I believe? I'm looking towards a used 30in Apple Cinema Display for $1300. The only thing I'm not sure is can I connect it to my MB? And is there a better monitor out there for the same or cheaper price?

the problem you may run into is the dual link DVI adapter that apple makes for the min-displayport is unreliable. Just take a look at the reviews on the store page.

Otherwise you want an IPS panel with good color accuracy and a fairly large screen size. I am looking into a new NEC, Eizo, Dell or HP. I am not a fan of the glossy ADC

Have a look there ^

Primarily you want a monitor with a good IPS panel and then a hardware calibrator to get your colours more accurate.
