Depends on what you are using your computer for. Email/internet, you don't need more. Gaming, you are probably fine with 4gb.

If you get into photoshop and final cut then you will probably want 8gb of ram. If you are working more on a professional level you could potentially use more.

But you haven't told us what you want to use your computer for.

just daily browsing, i use photoshop too but not professionally , i do not game at all.

For $200 I bought 16GB from OWC. I mean they're charging the price you would've paid Apple to upgrade to 8GB. And for 16GB Apple wants $600

I think OWC has the best prices and the easiest way to find what's available for your machine.

Buying in Canada-
Bought from Amazon.ca:

Super Talent DDR3-1333 SODIMM 4 GB Micron Chip Notebook Memory W1333SB4GM
Super Talent

Type: DDR3 SODIMM
Capacity: 4 GB
Speed: PC10600 1333MHz; Pins: 204pin
ECC: No; Registered: No
Chip: Micron

Based on another thread in the forum. I've never heard of super talent but options were limited. Look passable?

So iv done some research on sites and narrowed down to 2 products ,one from G Skill and one from Crucial to being the best Ram for the new 2011 iMac(Other than OWC but thats too expensive( over 107 dollars)

G skill : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...rue&Keywords=(keywords)&Page=1#scrollFullInfo

Crucial: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...m_re=8gb_ddr3_1333_204-_-20-148-345-_-Product

Now, between the 2, which one should i get? they both have a couple of bad reviews but mostly are positive, kingston has too many bad reviews and so did corsair so these are crossed out in my book.

I want the absolute best performance, im leaning towards the Crucial, what do u guys think?

I'm interested in knowing this too. Are you sure those 2 are the absolute best choices?

Get as cheap of RAM as you possibly can. There really is barely any difference between them.

I myself just bought 2 x 4GB Corsair RAM for $45 each and installed it about 30 min ago. Good as gold. :D

yes im sure, i just spent the last 2 hours researching, u can search too but im sure these 2 are the best choices.

I dont want to buy OWC because an 8GB stick costs like 107 with tax u know.. a little too much.

I think im set on the Crucial, they are a known company for Ram with good reputation and they dont have many bad reviews.

Let me know what u think

I was also looking at the Corsair and Kingston ones. The rep from BestBuy said Corsair was a good brand, but I don't know if that was an educated choice. Another one told me G.Skill was good because of the amount of reviews...
