I'm very very protective over mine since my late 2011 15" was a generous gift from my family, so I figured spending less than 10% of the price of the computer in order to protect it is no big deal. I have a Speck See Thru Satin in black, Moshi Clearguard to stop oily keys and dog hair and debris, and a Caselogic PAS 215 sleeve. When I travel, I put all of this is my dads old briefcase which means my computer is more than protected. I just don't want to risk any damage when it was such a wonderful gift. It's my baby. :). Cheers everybody!

I might go the opposite route from a lot of people.. but I haven't added anything extra on my mac to better protect it.

I'm more on the mentality that the best protection is being careful with it. I do have a case that I keep it in when I travel with it, but I don't have any hard shell case or keyboard protector on it.

Maybe it's just me, but I have never liked adding additional cases or bulkiness to my Apple products. They spend a lot of time and money making it look the way they do so I don't enjoy covering up the beauty! Same thing with my iPhone -- the only thing I have to protect it are some translucent static-cling shields. No cases or bumpers.

Im thinking of a case or something as I move mine everyday to and from work in a normal laptop case.

Any links to some recommended skins, hard cases etc in the UK?

The only protection I have around my macbook is air.

I seriously hope that all you materialistic people lose alot of money on cases and I hope it doesn't work anyway. Anyway its your money not mine. But might aswell get a cheapo dell because you basically transformed your fine macbook pro into something that looks like a cheapo plastic acer notebook.

Waste of money and user experience if you ask me. But whatever floats your materialistic boat. I on the other hand have transcended that state and I am using the MBP to its fullest potential. I am enjoying every minute of it in its bare and raw form. I love the touch of skin on cold aluminum and I love to see all my buddies jaws drop when they see this magnificent piece of art in its purest form.

OMG lol!!!!

I don't use anything other than a second skin case and bag with a laptop compartment for when I'm on the move.

Seriously. You need a life. My MBP has a Speck SeeThru Satin case in black on it. It looks sweet and I'm pretty sure it does the exact same things as yours. xD It's a computer, chill out!

I keep mine naked and in its full glory.

When I put it away for a while, when I know I'm not going to use it, I place it in a simple neoprene sleeve that was couple of green backs from Amazon.

Speck Hard Shell
Moshi Palm guard
Moshi Trackpad guard
Moshi Anti-glare Screen Film/Protector
Moshi Keyboard cover

I couldn't care less if anyone thinks I'm being overprotective. It's my MBP, I paid good money for it, and I'd like it to be protected from damage. I don't want the trackpad or keys to become "glossy," I don't want the palm rest to become pitted, I don't want the case to be dented. My preference.

No hard shell, but I make sure no one touches my computer. And I clean it every week with iKlear.
No Moshi Anti-glare, as I have the Anti-Glare model of MBP.

Everything else is the same, for the same reasons.

Okay, thank you for all you replies!

So I finally decided what I'll be using. After using everything from hard shells to sleeves to wraps, I have slimmed it down to only 2 things.

1) Moshi Clearguard for my keyboard and
2) Slickwraps Black Carbon Fiber (wristpad and top shell only, not on the bottom)

Not putting the wrap on the bottom had a significant effect on temperature. Around 5-7 degrees difference when doing the same things.
Yes, the bottom of my MBP is now "exposed" but I agree that I have to see some uncovered aluminum. :)

The only problems I am having are that the MBP's own rubber feet don't grip as well as a hard case and now I have a hard case sitting on my desk not doing anything. What a waste of money. lol

Thanks again for all your replies. :)
