on your new (late 2008) macbook pro?

below half, above half?

I love bright screens, on my old MacBook Pro (Glossy), I would always have it up full. On the new MacBook Pro however, it's *very* bright, so I usually have it two bars from full. That's usually in a room with low-light.

always keepin' it at 1-4 bars under full brightness.... that full-brightness is the brightest brightness in the world!!!

lol, there probably should be a warning in the box - "Fire Hazard - Your retinas may burst into flame when viewing this display at full brightness"

i know, full brightness is pretty bright.

I'm generally about half bright.

Does no one use it on low brightness, ie 2/3 bars.

I use mine on one up from off, 2 bars.

I use mine at just around 50% when I'm in school, where it's gennerally pretty bright. At home i use it around 20% or so.

Over half but it depends if I have it on battery or Ac. I find less than half is barely usable.

I use max brightness most of the time =) I didn't get a bright glossy led screen to turn it down. Only when I get up do I put it on the very first level of brightness otherwise it's blinding haha. Especially during the day, I crank it all the way up.

i was getting that pulsing/flicker on lower levels but when i turn it up half or beyond it's not noticeable.

Generally, I keep my screen 1-4 bars from bottom for normal use, and about half +2 bars for photo editing. However, I do most of my photo editing on an external S-IPS display...

I almost always have mine at only 1-2 bars. I never have it at more than that except when I'm outside. I guess I just don't like a super bright screen. I get headaches if I leave the brightness above halfway.

When im plugged in at my desk im usually at or near full brightness. I Love the bright screen. But if im running off of battery like in class or something ill be at 1 bar to get the best battery life and so its not like i have a spot light on if the room is dim.

Half, unless I'm using the Mac as a TV or doing photo work, then it's full or near-full.

I usually have it on the dimmest it can be, so there is only one bar showing. However, it does flicker a bit and when I work with graphics I turn the brightness up to half way.

I use it on full all the time...but when I first start using it in the morning its all the way down lol.
