For purely photography focus, yes. Probably won't help so much for folks looking for HTPC solutions.

In looking that the performance guide stuff it is critical to match up size of photos user's works on versus the sizes used in some of those benchmarks. To a large extent the Mac Pro sized hardware is being driven by supersized photos. Photography can be done without supersizing photos.


Interesting though, yet somewhat accurate, characterization in the article on "Getting the Existing Mac Pro ... ." where

'.. For me, an all-in-one seems much more elegant than a pile of gear; .... '

Yes in some sense some folk's Mac Pro foot stomping about "all in one" has done a complete 180 with the appearance of the new Mac Pro. The monitor is outside the box that's great! External modularity is "pro". Post Mac Pro 2013 ... external box modularity is evil. If can't cram everything possible inside the box it can't be "pro". Neither extreme is all that helpful at fitting requirements to solution design.
