when I got my blackbook, I found this forum by looking up programs I should have and what not.

What was that moment for you?

When I realised I could get dozens of men to pay attention to me. ;)

No, not really. At the time, MR seemed to have an interesting balance of creative types and witty geeks, a bit more diverse than some other forums I'd looked at. One indication of its community spirit, I guess, is the incidence of couples who have met each other here, and in some cases, got married. I also took the high numbers of Brits and other people of different nationalities posting here as a good sign, as well as a busy community forum. For a long time, it seemed like the 'think different' marketing-speak of Apple had a mirror in the demographics of this forum; perhaps less so today.

MacRumors is the only site I've ever paid my own money towards where commerce is not the main focus of the site.

I started posting because I thought I was cool doing it.

Looking back, I was the type of poster that I look at now and go, "God, grow up! You aren't cool, so just sit back and get your hands away from the keyboard. Now. Good."

Apparently my first post was to whine about international prices.

International sales accounted for 43 percent of the quarter's revenues.

OK, Apple's making international sales. However, as most people outside the US know, most of Apple's products are a lot more expensive internationally than they are in the US. I think that if Apple put their international prices in line with their US prices, then they would make many more sales, and therefore more revenue, more market share, etc. Anyone else agree?

Questions about buying a Powerbook. I wanted to keep an ear to the ground on rumours about an update.
