@M.Brane but does your Apple Music subscription (if you have a subscription) still work on your version of iTunes?
I have never, and will never subscribe to any kind of music streaming service. Local libraries only. I work in an area with little to no connectivity so if I want music while I work streaming is a not an option. Plus I'm an audio bigot, and require all my files at the highest possible quality. I have downloaded high res files direct from some artists, but mostly I still buy CDs, and rip as 16/44.1 AIFF.

I also have music that I converted from alac to aac (practically indistinguishable if you are not an audiophile) to save space.

In the end I decided to subscribe for convenience and because I don't have to upload music locally to each device. That's why I hope the Apple music service is supported as long as possible in Monterey.

That appears to be both of us stuck on Sonoma.
I could go to Sequoia of course, but I don't really see an advantage at this time. I have three video cards, one being a PC card. To install root patches after the upgrade I'd need to pull the PC card and that's just a giant PITA. The wrong root patches get installed when the PC card is present.

Tahoe is worth it to me, but again - not supported yet. So, I wait on Sonoma.

I have a 2018 MacBook Air with the T2 chip so stuck on Sonoma. Think Apple overdid it on user security with putting the T2 chips.
