OLED screen or no interest. And that's my final answer..lol I think the current 12" ipad pro has some life left in it though as I wait.
While OLED can have greater colors, clarity, and more efficient energy use... The tech is not as long lasting and reliable as LCD YET. Plus OLED screens cost a huge chunk of money to replace, while LCD is still much more affordable and still has amazing quality these days.

According to LG, OLED response times are up to 1,000 times faster than LCD, putting conservative estimates at under 10 μs (0.01 ms), which could theoretically accommodate refresh frequencies approaching 100 kHz (100,000 Hz).

That's all you need to know. Besides, this thread ask what else would make me buy another one. This is it. I've got an OLED alienware 13 which probably has the best screen I've seen on a laptop. .01 ms. It was much better compared against an xps 15 which already boasts one of the best screens. http://hothardware.com/reviews/alienware-13-with-oled-review for a look at the future.

I think this would be more of a want on macrumors if the powers that be would do an article on it.

3D Touch - I love using iOS10 on my iPhone 6s+ with 3D Touch features, love deep press on AW with WatchOS3, but sometimes throws me off when I try to attempt to deep press on iPad Pro.
512GB - Flash Storage
A1x Processor
More Ram
macOS - to run dedicated macOS apps, huge handicap right now, have to use JumpDesktop or TeamViewer to get info in a non-native environment.
Better Keyboard - Foldability, keyboard constantly folds up and hits the screen when typing in bed.
Thinner - only a little
Battery Improvements - longevity and charging time, perhaps with faster charging it will eliminate the glaring issue of using while charging, yet still draining battery.
Pencil storage - so it doesn't get lost, I'm sure they'll debut a new pencil as well.

But overall, love my iPad Pro 12.9, use it everyday. I could easily skip the next one and wait for the one after, still probably won't tho.

I only have the 12.9 pro. But I would love refinements on the pencil. I find it very slick on the screen. More textured feel like a cintiq would be great. Also, I find the palm rejection to be subpar. I get lots of marks and gesture inputs that I don't want happening .

Tilt is ok but could be better. Barrel Rotation would make the pencil a artists dream (like Wacom art pen)

More ram would be nice, I paint at super high resolutions and I get limited to only a few layers at times.
A faster processor would always be nice.
But I would rather have More battery life please. I kill mine in 4-5 hours in bright environments.

The screen is great, just not in bright environments .
Better color management would be nice. My workstation has color calibrated cintiq 27. I notice when I import into the iPad the colors are off. I did find an app that can display color calibrated images, and ca,I rates with my color calibrator, but I can't find a way to calibrate the system, so everything I create in the iPad has to be adjusted in a color managed workspace later. Kinda a pain for printing and posting stuff on the web. Even if the new small iPad has more accurate colors, screens drift in a month. Colors get off in time, system wide calibration is a must for professionals.

Overall, I'm very happy with my iPad . I sold off my cintiq companion because I was hardly using it after the iPad purchase. If I don't see any improvements in these areas, I'll probably just keep the old one. It's fine for mobile sketching/painting, editing photos, and consumption

A really cool feature I would buy, is the ability to plug iPad into a computer and have full resolution cintiq like screen. That way we could have OS X on the iPad Pro. Astropad sucks for my needs. We need hardware screen capture like the cintiq companion does.

As someone who bought a 12.9 pro and returned it within the first 28 days i dont think i would buy one again especially as I bought a Macbook 12 instead, which i think is a much better device.

But for me to even think about it here are the items i would want to see and i think most have been suggested before
  • improvements to iOS to utilise the screen better, i hated the way i could only get the same number of apps on the screen as with an iPhone, way too much wasted space.
  • better touch id as per iphone 6s
  • better keyboard with more angle options for the screen, lying here typing this with the macbook on my chest, the adjustability of the screen makes it easy, was much harder with fixed position of logitech keyboard
  • lighter, felt heavier with keyboard and case than my macbook
  • better camera for facetime, not so worried about picture taking camerare
  • more professional / business apss designed for the 12.9, may have hanged since i had mine, but most apps just scaled and didnt utilise the size difference
  • better ability of apps to use cloud storage like dropbox and one drive.
  • reduction in cost of cellular option, i dont really think that it costs apple £100 more for the cellular chips.
think thats about it from me, but even with those changes i dont think i would change from my Macbook.

No another thing to know is lifespan, and the cost of replacing the screen due to the pixel(s) that WILL die. OLED is absolutely awesome, I don't disagree with you on that front at all, but for me... refresh frequencies are not an important issue compared to lifespan. I work with and sell OLED and LCD TVs and Computers everyday... I hear of more issues with LGs OLED compared to Sony's or Samsung's LCD. I'm not against OLED, but I am against tech that isn't quite ready for prime time. I NEED my display to be reliable and not have a higher chance of dying pixels, LCD has less of that problem (for now of course) but personally I hope Apple continues to use LCD on iPads until they are able to better perfect OLED tech.

Id like to see cellular support at ANY storage size. More apps that are optimized for the larger screen. Lighter would be nice but they always make the next gen tablets lighter so we'll get that.

Ive been hanging onto my Air 1 for a while and its still doing me good. Ive toyed with trying the iPP 12.9". The cost is an issue too - if they threw in some accessories or made it a little more affordable Id be more inclined to buy one. The problem is that with cell support and accessories I can literally buy a MacBook Air or an entry level rMBP for about the same money which really throws a wrench into the plans, ya know?

You're comparing the iPP w/cell support with a MBA or rMBP w/o cell support. Doesn't seem like a fair comparison. If an MBA/rMBP are good w/o cell, I would think that a 12.9 iPP would be also... particularly if the MBA/rMBP are equivalent replacements for an iPP.

my 12.9 iPP has replaced both my iPad Air 2 and 11" MBA as my primary mobile device. But I also have remote access to my iMac for those times when I need to work on OSX.

Personally haven't used newer devices with very high PPI AMOLED but the pentile matrix on the ones I've used has always bothered me when reading text.

Same screen and display as the 9´7´´pro
A10X processor
Some improvement the 9´7 does not has.
(Better battery would be nice but I don´t see it happen anytime)

Since the first 2 will happen yes or yes I will buy the IPP 2 12,9.
Living without a tablet since April this year and I really miss it :-o

I'd like a different type of software that's more of a hybrid between iOS and macOS. I know the 12.9' with its processor and 4gb of ram is capable of it.

As of now, it's the perfect device for me. I would improve charging (too slow), and weight if possible (but not at the price of features). I use it everyday for multiple things.

Better processor
Better screen
More battery life

Hell, I'd take more RAM. Do I think I need it? No, but it couldn't hurt.
