Hopefully I can do it through Best Buy since I can basically get it free with reward zone certificates.

I was planning on going through my carrier. I think that way I can go pick it up on launch night without having to que for hours

I never buy from Apple since they can't resolve any setup glitch. Therefore it's time wasted.

I've had perfect experiences each year with AT&T. Just go online the moment they appear. It only takes less than ten minutes if your account is current. They ship FedEx next day by 10:30am. Its really easy.

Last year my phone arrived before 10:30 am at my front door. AT&T ships it with a fully setup sim. So all you do is dial an automated number & you're all setup & ready to use the phone.

I've never had one delay or problem. No swapping sims. No waiting on hold.

Just a very nice experience.

I'm not crazy about lines so I'll probably just order it through apple.

Last year I got it on my doorstep 3 days after it was released.

Little did I know.... There weren't really any lines up here for the 4s

Not sure yet to be honest

What is suggested do you think? I was thinking about using the Verizon site but I doubt they'll have any left in stock unless I'm lurking hardcore lol

Terminating my att contract on the 12th once they announce it.
Preordering on apple.com for T-mobile.

So you are paying outright for your phone?

ATT store for me

Nope, Signing a contract with tmobile or sprint and getting it at contract price.
Unless ATT comes with a talk plan with unlimited text & data plan under $80.

Probably through AT&T. They got my brothers 4S to my door by 9:45AM launch day.

My friend claims to have walked into the Apple Store the night of launch and said there were tons of phones left so maybe the Apple Store

tmobile is not getting the iphone.. so you going Sprint then. It was the reason I asked.

I am most likely going with apple.com or the apple store app. I haven't had any problems doing it through Apple, so i'm gonna continue with them.

Maybe he is taking about all the rumors. :p

Ordering from apple.com

Yep, which is why I said it. It's silly I be disappointed until you know for sure.

For those who've ordered online before, do you generally receive it the day of release?

Yes!!

Sometimes one day before also.

so far everyone iphone i have ordered it through apple.com and then gone to the store to pick it up, the only phone i ordered on apple.com and walked in and out with a phone on launch day within 5 minutes was when 4 came out in white. no more lines for me, i will have it delivered to me this year since apple is smart and releasing the phone with over 50/60% of all cell phone user contracts being up in sept or them being allowed an early upgrade only for an iphone in sept from their cell phone providers.

I've tried to do the pre-ordering thing through Apple (website and app) and wasn't able to get it done. I used AT&T's website and it took me about five minutes to complete the order, grandfathered data and all. I'll be doing the same thing this year for the iPhone 5.

I'm with Telecom over here, so I'll probably pop into the local Telecom shop. I ordered online last year and they moved my service onto the new phone before it was delivered (disconnecting my old one), and I don't want to go through that hassle again.
