Location: Ontario, Canada
Carrier: Fido

Plan: $70/month - 150 minutes, 5pm evenings/weekends, unlimited texting(+"extreme text messaging" carrier perks), caller id, visual voicemail, 6Gb Data

Pros:
-billing by the second - have never gone over my minute allotment, with early evenings/weekends it's easy not to
-data option includes tethering
-Fido Dollars (carrier perk) earn "dollars" based on a % of my monthly payments which I can use at any time towards buying a new phone or paying for an addon in my plan
-can turn off data and keep cell service
-carrier supports HSPA+, have consistent 8-9Mb/s dl speeds
-carrier has LTE in my region, will be nice if the next iPhone has LTE
-carrier has largest coverage in Canada, rarely do I not have signal even if I go to the cottage or beach
-can negotiate a retention plan towards end of contract
-receive text alerts telling me when I'm close to and reach data/minute limits
-useful app to track usage and account balance

Cons:
-3 year contract (although more than a year into it)
-most subscribers on this network, can be congestion and slower speeds in some areas such as downtown Toronto
-carrier won't officially unlock iPhone until contract the phone is tied to is complete

Im in NYC and I switched to Verizon after having an ATT blackberry for 2 years. Yes my internet is probably slower than ATT but it is consistent and works in my midtown office. Couldn't say the same for co workers who have ATT.

Tmobile

I have a question and I would highly appreciate any input: Does anyone have the factory unlocked iPhone and if so, can they use the phone on AT&T's GoPhone Plan? (Here: http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-plans/pyg-cell-phone-plans.jsp) I am looking at the $50 Unlimited Plan and that looks super attractive right now. I've thought about switching but probably won't do so for a while since individual plans are so expensive for a college student like me.
