so each monitor is independently controlled then ?
this is where the GPU comes in I guess for that support
thanks

I use an older BenQ2200 for now. I am going to try it in my living room with a Pioneer KRP-500 at some point

An LG Flatron W2343T as my main display and a Samsung SyncMaster 913n as a secondary display. I can't recommend the LG enough, excellent clarity, 2 inputs DVI and VGA, a very fast response time, matte screen and piano black casing and it was only about £135 this time last year. They do a TV/Monitor version with an MPEG4 tuner for full 1080p HD TV for about £200 too. It has a simliar model number.

I looked at the W2343T in store and while it had good sharpness, there was obvious color banding and dithering, worst than my MacBook Pro 13", my 2006 iMac 17" and a Samsung B2330. How would you rate the color smoothness on yours?

Well I would like to use my Apple Monitor but it does not work in Native resolution with my new mac mini, great.

All my lcd monitors have come from Newegg. I have two Samsungs, an HP, and two Acers. The Acers look the best, display the best, and cost the least...

Apple 24" ACD + I have a Dell U2412M arriving this week... but I am seeing people are having some issues with this monitor so we shall see how my dual monitor set-up works out.

For awhile it was this (2 x 20" ACD):

Now it's this (1 x 24" ACD):

Quad i7 Server Mini with 8GBs of RAM paired up with a HP ZR30w. The machine is very quick and the works beautifully with this display.

Im still on a factory refurb 15inch HP TFT. Well worth the money some 10 years ago now, but I'm getting to the point a bit larger would be nicer!

Eizo

22" Eizo S2243W:
Resolution: 1920 x 1200
Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)

Matte I hasten to add.

Never really noticed any problems. Maybe there was a bad batch of them or something? It might be the viewing angle maybe but it seems fine to me. If anything, the Samsung suffers from that problem a little but it's only my secondary display so the most it has on it is palettes, finder windows or the Pro Tools mixer screen. I'm looking at replacing it with an LG2362D eventually because I can replace my aging CRT TV with that as a tie over between getting a large screen 1080p set as my main TV (I live in a small studio flat so only need 1 TV but that could change in the future).

speaking of monitors...

Is it possible to run 3 monitors on the new 2011 mac mini?

I just bought the 2.3GHz Mac mini, and I'd like to hook up my 60" TV (via the HDMI?) and also my two 22" monitors (using HDMI cables too).

Is there a Thunderbolt --> 2 HDMI adapter I could use? And will the Mac Mini even support the 3 displays?

The base model 2011 Mac Mini and 2011 Mac Mini Server only support two displays. The mid-range Mac Mini with discrete AMD 6630M 256MB can support three displays (1 HDMI, 2 x Display Port / Thunderbolt).

2011 Mac Mini Server connected to 2010 27" iMac
2011 Mac Mini 2.7GHz Dual-Core Intel i7 connected to 46" Sony Bravia LCD TV

I am happy to report that the Dell U2412M works perfectly via the supplied HDMI --> DVI Adaptor. Running at 1920x1200. Very nice piece of kit.

I bought the base Mac mini last week, threw in 8GB of RAM and it's doing everything I need it to just fine.

I also picked up a 24" Apple LED Cinema Display on eBay for $500 shipped, so I'm using that now.

I will probably sell the 24" in the next month or two when I can afford to make up the difference for a 27" Thunderbolt Display.

Mostly so I can have a little bit more space, and get the monitor new and buy AppleCare for it within the first year (the one I got off eBay is no longer eligible).
