What? No Better way to switch GPUs on the fly?

This was asked many times BUT never recently brought up: the able to switch between the 9400m and the 9600m GT on the fly WITHOUT logging out.

Unfortunately, the latest Snow Leopard build still requires that log out trick.

Windows can do it on the fly, why can't Mac OS X?
