Considering how powerful the iPad is, I'd like to see some modified PC and mac games for the iPad. I know the developers would have to make them which might be unlikely, but it'd be awesome.

    I'd like to see
    • Warcraft 3 TFT
    • Age of Empires 3

EDIT: I'd also like to see
    • WoW
    • Runescape
Although I might not play them, they'd be pretty neat on the iPad.
I'd love some kind of MMORPG and FPS game for the iPad with nice graphics, a real game.

Command and Conquer / Warcraft III

    Diablo-esque something

    Myst

More adventure games (grim fandango, the dig, kings quest, space quest, etc)

    Supreme Commander :)

    Sim City / Civilization

RPG's. Any of them. Classics. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Phantasy Star 1-4, etc.

There are so many games I would play on this thing...and The Best Part - I'd actually GET to play them! With a kid at home, I never have access to the TV to play Xbox 360 since Dora the fricken Explorer is always on, and since I'm watching a kid, I can't really sit down and play on my macbook pro...oh and the inconvenince of booting to Windows is the final nail on that.

I play tons of games on my iPhone, and they will only be better on the iPad. I'm actually very, very excited about this thing as a game platform. I see myself using it nearly 24x7 except when I'm at work using my actual macbook pro, or in my car / at a restaurant etc where I'll be on my iPhone.

I'll probably never let the iPad leave my grasp when I'm at home.

Yeah, I'd love Battlefield Bad Company 2 over as well, it'd be cool. It's not even out of Beta on Windows yet though LOL. Kinda hard to say "Hey, can you make an iPad only version too"?

Definitely The Sims and Sim City. Games like that which don't require super fast/precise interaction and are mostly point and click (or touch) will be perfect.

I'd like to see Spore on it. I wonder if you would be able to use the keyboard/dock for gaming(WASD)?

    Starcraft.

Also, I expect a LOT of full sized board games coming out. Chess, Checkers, etc.

This is going to sound strange but.... Frontier: Elite 2. Only, you know, bug-free and with a graphics update. It came out in 93, doesn't need a ton of resources, has huge depth, would suit the iPad control scheme and is a massively unappreciated classic.

The Sims and Civ Revolution will be available on day one (via iPhone app). Currently playing the handheld version of Civ Rev and have been very impressed! Although it's kinda dangerous taking Civilization around with me wherever I go...I'm going to get hit by a bus one of these days.

RTS games might be fun, but it might be kind of difficult to be fast and accurate with the touchscreen - hard to say without trying it.

Board games, as mentioned, will be both popular and fun. I have a 2 year old and look forward to teaching him checkers and eventually chess on something like the iPad - should be more interactive and interesting to a small child as well as less likely to put the pieces in his mouth.

I also think that there's something to be said about the inclusion of the digital compass in all models. Because that's currently a 3Gs only feature there's not a lot of games taking advantage of it, but that could change. Will be interesting to see if it's usable for an aiming or control mechanism of some sort in FPS or other games.

Lastly, I hope we see some educational games for small children (afore mentioned 2 year old). I'll likely have an Invisible Skin on the screen of the iPad and the whole thing in a case, so I will feel comfortable with him using it while sitting on my lap or on the table with me there (basically using it in a way which he can't drop it). Some matching games, and counting and learning letters type stuff will be really fun on something like this. If there isn't anything good out there I suppose it would be trivial enough to do a web based set of games.

EDIT: totally forgot that while I don't play tabletop RPGs anymore, the iPad would be an awesome way to extend that experience online. Speakers and mic for voice chat, large multitouch surface for virtual miniatures and maps... I would pay good money to GamesWorkshop for something like this, especially if it had an offline/single player mode and some cool precreated scenarios and league modes, etc. ****. I might have to finally learn Obj-C if they don't do this.

The iPhone was too small to make this a workable game genre, but a 10" should be plenty big.

OnLive. Now that's a reason to allow a mouse, plus BT Keyboard. Controller as an alternative to a mouse maybe.

Speaking of Fallout 3, is the iPad not basically exactly what a PIPBoy is or what? :)
