I'm just curious what security apps apple users use. What do you think is necessary, and what do you think is worthless? Does anyone run any anti-spyware / malware programs. And if so, have you ever found anything?

I'm required to run an anti-virus for my job, otherwise, I use the system's security. I do run VPN when going through wireless.

I'm also wondering if my security setup is stupid, or just fine :)

For the sake of your computer there is no point of running those programs, because there isn't any spyware or viruses in cyberworld for macs currently. But you should run it if you are worried about infecting fellow windows computers that your coworkers use. You can't get the viruses, but you can be a "carrier" and forward emails or stuff with attached things. If your work suggests it I would comply with running the software while at work, and when you're not at work just turn it off. :D
