Todd ive been in ur scenario ive also been on the other side the buyers side. My dad bought a rolex ( it was real) off ebay from japan only 80 dollars but it leaked water when going in pool so sent back for refund never got money back . Anyway technically they cant do anything, they cant even sue you becuase ebay is not liable. You could post a picture for a new macbook pro and sell them a gen 3 crappy laptop for like 1000 dollars they cant do anything u will get negative feed back but hey buyer beware also, i would have said Sold as seen in photos anyway dotn refund just read there emails and dont reply cause if u do they will hound u till they get a refund btw they are so not 75 its a scam man dont give refund they cant sue all they can do is give u 1 negative feed back

I already have replied to the emails and agreed to a refund. It's just dishonest, not to give her a refund, and I don't see whats so hard to believe that she is older (mabye not 75) she was buying "granny panties", and knitting stuff, afghans etc on eBay... I doubt some teenager who would be trying to scam me would be buying that stuff. As far as "Sold as seen in photos" I did state clearly in the auction that it had a modem, even though I did have pictures, she probably didn't know what she was looking at. Don't get me wrong im not happy about the situation, but im doing what I think a RESPONSIBLE seller should do. It's people like you who give eBay a bad name.

Well I'll decide what to do with it when I get it back, and you seem to be implying that I charged too much for shipping. This thing weighed like 30Lbs, it was actually like $35.00 to ship.

I'm not questioning your shipping costs, I'm questioning her eBay acumen. Why buy and pay cross-country shipping for an item both heavy and ubiquitous?

Cause even with shipping she got a computer for $160 which is still cheaper then a store. (after all she is on a fixed income :) LOL)

BTW: Where did you find a PowerMac for $105 I wan't one :) I sold my PowerMac G4 as well, and got $800 for it, a 15"Sony Display, a Canon Scanner, and some cheap software. It had a few upgrades, but nothing much except 320GB of Hard Drives, and a USB 2.0 Card.

P.S. Incase your wondering about all this selling, I just got an iMac so sold all of my old computer equipment.

Right, and without shipping it would have been cheaper still.

eBay. Guy has connections to a higher education source that dumps all their old Mac stuff for cheap 'cause the IT guys hate Mac and want them gone.

It's only a DA 466, but for another $35 I upgraded the video card and for $70 dropped some RAM in it. It's a fine machine which will live a long second life.

And the saga continues.... She sent me an email yesterday

"Todd,
The tracking number is : 12XF1897203866895
Expected delivery Sept. 6th, 2006

Lynne"

As far as I can tell that is not a valid tracking number for UPS, FedEX, or DHL, FedEX doesn't use numbers, UPS always starts with 1Z, and im not sure about DHL, but their website says "invalid". Mabye it's just not in the system yet, I will try again when I get home from work later. I sent her an email asking what service she used. Any thoughts on that number?
