Hi everybody. First post here. I have a mid 2007 iMac with a 250Gb HD and a mid 2007 macbook with a 120Gb HD. I would like to back them both up on one external drive. Do you think a 500Gb drive would be enough?

Just get the 1TB, they are not that much more. I went to Costco and bought a Seagate portable 1tb, USB only for 67$.

Yes get an external HDD as big as you can, and depending on your budget. But I think external storage drives are very much affordable these days.

I would highly and strongly recommend Western Digital external HDDs as they have provided me with flawless usage for many years and have not even failed once on me. Definitely one of the best and most reliable in the business.

you can never have too much storage.

i would go for 500 GB at minimum, 1 TB if you can afford.

chances are youll need more storage after say 6 months.
