Ohio - GO BUCKEYES!
I was in the Apple Store the other day looking at the iPhone 13 sizes. Oh, the Max was so easy on my eyes! But, the Pro fit my hand like a glove. I have smaller hands and hate when I'm working out and the phone weight drags my pants down. Did anyone buy the Max and regret the size? I know stupid question!

Do you have an Apple Watch? I’ve got the cellular version and it’s given me a lot of freedom of choice for phone sizes. I forgot my iPhone yesterday while out at a restaurant and was able to answer texts from my kid. Now when I go out for walks I just rely on the watch. I could see that being an option for your workouts if you want to stay connected.

But getting back to choosing between them, I think I’m going to start with the Pro Max this time. My husband has the 13 Pro Max and I’m always envying the battery life he gets on it. It’s also heavy enough to use to knock muggers unconscious🤣. Seriously the weight of these phones is getting ridiculous. It’s like carrying around an axe blade. I use a ring attached to my case to help me grip the larger phones I’ve got.

I had the 12 Pro Max and with my small hands finally decided it was too big. I have a 13 Pro now and it fits my hand better. I also have a Watch with cellular that I use when I work out. That way I can leave the phone and let the watch track my workout and still receive texts and calls. When the 14's come out I am not sure if I will upgrade or not but if I do I most likely will stick with the 14 Pro.

I have the 12 and still deciding on what model of the 14 to upgrade to. I am sure my eyes are worse than yours (closing in on the big 70 in October) but I still read fine on the standard (read - non mini/pro) screen. I do like the idea of the larger screen, and realistically the weight different isn't really that big - two ounces from 13 to 13 PRO Max - but I guess it is noticeable when carrying around in a pocket.
But I agree with the earlier responder - when I exercise, whether jogging, bike riding or in the gym - I just use my Apple Watch and leave the phone either at home or in my locker. (It would be embarrassing - especially at my age - to have the weight of the iPhone pull my gym pants/shorts down LOL)

Does anyone plan to move from 13 pro max to 14 pro because they didn’t like the max size?
Yep, planning to switch from 13pm to 14pro. The size is mostly ok, I can even one-hand most things. But with the shape, sharp edges, and weight it just feels slightly unwieldy for the way I’d prefer to handle the device. So I’m leaning 14 pro as long as there’s feature parity.

I switched from 13P to 13 and the 30 grams weight is really noticeable. I couldn’t get used to the 13P weight. I wouldn’t upgrade this year, iphones are not getting lighter I guess.

Honestly comes down to personal preference. For me it’s not the size of the max that I don’t like it’s the weight. That being said I have always had a max size version because I love the screen. Others will say the battery life makes the max worth it, but in today’s world I’m never far from a charger as are most people. So again, it really comes down to personal preference.

I've always gotten the plus or max size since Apple started offering them, and never had any regrets... I love the size and don't find it heavy at all... I've never had issues sticking the phone in my front pant pocket despite wearing fitted pants/jeans.... I could never go back to the smaller size screen now.

I agree I don't understand why they don't put effort into making these bigger phones lighter. Like with the 14 nonpro max, why not make it out of plastic?

I had a 6+ and loved it in my hand but hated it in my pocket. It was difficult to walk up stairs with the phone in my pocket and I couldn’t get it out of my pocket very easily when sitting down. For a couple of years I would take my phone out of my pocket before sitting down, and hold it in my hand whenever running up stairs. I went to the X which wasn’t so bad because the 6+ had huge bezels with a 5.5” screen and the X had a 5.85” screen (although with a notch). Overall the screen real estate stayed similar. Now I have an iPhone 11 and am very tempted by the larger screen size of the Pro Max but worry about the pocket issue again.

More than anything I hope Apple fixes the OLED migraine issue though.

Supposedly we should not be keeping iPhones or any kind of smartphones in our pockets for safety reasons anyway. (Battery leaks, radiation advisory) But we all do.

I'm wondering about this also. I currently have the 13 pro, and was considering the 14 pro max, but I worry about the size. Female with small hands here, but I love a big screen. I am mostly worried about the weight and the phone being uncomfortable to hold.

I don’t regret the 13 PM, but I’m definitely over the size of it. I’m going for the Pro this time.

All these comments about going from promax to pro are starting to make me question switching from 6.1 to the 6.7
