I've been holding off on purchasing a new phone. I'm still holding on to my old but trusty 64GB iPhone 6 Plus. It's a little over 4 yrs old. I'm finally ready to upgrade to the new iPhone Xs. I haven't decided on whether to get the Xs or Xs Max yet. However I'm leaning towards the bigger one as I am use to having the iPhone 6 Plus.

The difficult part is choosing the size. I know I definitely want either at least a 256GB. My previous 64gb is decent, but when traveling I notice that I'm reaching close to the limit since I like to take a lot of pics and film video. I don't have an outrageously large music library or anything so I think the 256GB should be plenty and more than enough. That's 4x the space of the 64GB that I currently have. I plan on keeping this phone for as long as possible. Perhaps around 4-5 years. 512GB sounds like overkill to me. What do you guys think?

You will not keep this phone for over 4 or 5 years. 5G is coming in 1 or 2 years and then will be a very good time to upgrade the mobile phone.

Apple doesn’t adopt that stuff eary though...wait a year after it’s widespread for Apple to adopt 5G.

256. Usually I jump at the chance to get the max amount of storage Apple offers on a new device (they were stingy for so long). But 256 has been sufficient for me-- I'd go 512 but can't really convince myself to spend $1650 on a phone (1450 + 200 for Applecare as I'm a current iUP customer). I do want the Max so I am seeing a slight increase in my monthly payment... maybe I'd consider it if I preferred the 5.8" size screen.

I'm looking instead to get an iPad Pro w/ 512gb at some point since that seems to be the device I load with movies for trips and such.

(Any way to add a poll to the OP? I'd be interested in seeing the breakdown there.)
