I realize the options are somewhat limited but estimations are fine here. :)

.FYI:

Just curious.

SuperKing here. It's a huge bed but we love it. The bedroom doesn't have room for much else but what else does a bedroom need anyway? :) (it's got closets, two nightstands, one of which has an iMac on it for watching movies in bed and stuff, and then that big arse bed.)

Same width but slightly longer than a UK King Size. The mattress is 210cm long.

Which should tell everyone in the know which retailer we bought it from :)

There's also a "california king" sized bed. Not sure about the dimensions.

I know but I think different countries have different measurements for it and "king/superking" was close enough.

Side note: it bugs me that there is such variation in sizes from country to country. I had some gorgeous egyptian cotton sheets that are just a few inches off from fitting here. :p

Queen sized bed for me and the wife. We slept in a king bed during a stay in Niagara on the Lake, it was too big and felt like we were sleeping on our own. Also I wouldn't recommend a king bed for anyone living in an apartment/condo... there wouldn't be much room for anything else!

US Queen size is the only way to go if you ask me. A double is just too small, and a US King feel huge to me - like I am sleeping by myself.

The US Queen seems to be just right combination of closeness when you want it, and space when you don't...

I have a king-sized bed and one thing that's really annoying about it is the fact that it's not quite a square. If it was a perfect square it would be no problem but since it's off a bit it's really easy to put the sheets and blankets on the wrong way. Then inevitably the sheet slips off in the middle of the night because it wasn't installed correctly, and you're sleeping on the mattress pad.

Otherwise, I love my king size bed.

US King. basically two twins put together for me, rather than one mattress.

why? one is firm and one is plush. best of both worlds when you're feeling the need for one over the other. plus the girlfriend prefers firm and i prefer the plush.

HAHA I know just what you mean, this is also my only complaint about it.

good idea, actually.

What about those of us who sleep on the floor using a futon? ;)
then I figure you'll answer the poll based upon a size estimate.

(yeah I knew I left out some specifics but it was close enough to get an idea)

Mine is US Queen. I totally love being able to sprawl out on a big bed (and having seen yours, am somewhat envious of it! :p ). Although the advantage of US Queen over Full is probably the biggest one to me, because of the length. Even if you're not tall, it allows you to have tons of throw pillows and still not have your feet hang over. :D

You forgot to put on the list Twin Long. I use one of these. It's the same width as a regular US twin size bed, but has more length to is so as to fit taller people like myself. I just about bought myself a US queen a few years back, but didn't. Glad now that I didn't as my bad hardly fits in my room in my apartment as is.

Full. When I was looking for a house/condo last year, the only thing I planned on upgrading was my bed. However, when I decided on a studio, the full size mattress was the only thing I did keep. A queen would be much too large in the 420 sq ft I have. :)

Ugh this was probably an inside joke, but I had to sleep on a futon mattress on the floor when I first moved into my condo. I had ordered a bed to come during the move, but the delivery company bungled the order... so for three weeks in the winter we had to sleep on a twin futon mattress with all the cold air... Not fun.

Queen, not that I would notice. The S.O. snuggles up to me and nearly pushes me off the bed. The entire right half goes unused :(

I have a light stand on my side, if she ever manages to push me off I'll probably break my neck on it (my bed is also very tall, so lots of potential energy). Maybe that's her plan

But you don't have one the size of a room! Ha ha! :p

BTW, it is really handy if you have been celebrating a little too much. No falling out of the bed this way. You are already at floor level. :D

Devious! Has she taken out any life insurance policies on you lately?
