I need a software that allows me to trim and/or merge .avi videos and then save them as .avi, too.
QuickTime Pro will let you do that. But I'm no expert so don't buy it just yet; wait for more responses.
Also, I'm sure this has been done here quite a bit. Did you try MRoogle?
i have the quicktime pro ,
its crap ,
it not great to use,
maybe it just i am using it wrong but it didn't do much for me ,
i think it can do what you want but i would research it a little
Quicktime Pro can trim video but it has limitations.
For one, you cannot really select things with much accuracy. The start and end selectors move just like the seek bar you use to move to different points in the video.
It can end up skipping multiple frames from just the slightest move. This makes it difficult to properly trim it at a specific point in long movies. The shorter the movie, the more accurate it will be.
Do you have any suggestions for something that works better?
Try MPEG Streamclip
