Since I started working from home I find myself frequently whistling some song to myself. I don't always realize that I'm doing it right away, but inevitably, the song is one that is stuck in my head and I have a hard time getting it out.

Today's song is "Music Box Dancer".
I don't remember what yesterday's song was.
Other days it's "Hail to the Chief."

So what song is in your head today?

The same horrible song every day for the past decade: "Tainted Love".

OK, just kidding. It's usually whatever I last listened to. Today it's "The Wizard and I" from the "Wicked" soundtrack, which is the last thing I played in iTunes. It's hard to beat a song with the word "degreenify" in it. :D

The theme from "Lilies of the Field," an old Sidney Poitier movie. At Christmastime I heard the song "Amen" from that, which spurred me to see if I could find a CD of the soundtrack of the movie, as I had long since pared down my vinyl collection and no longer had that album, although I've always loved it. Found it on the 'net, ordered it, and as soon as I received it, popped it into iTunes and now I can enjoy it on my iPod. Had it playing in the car yesterday and that catchy music is STILL going through my head!

This one bit in Sorgens Kammer-Del II (Stormblåst 2005 rerecord), which sounds as though he's saying "Rolly Knoll" very defiantly with a blocked nose :p And there's the intro to Trollhammaren by Finntroll - The real Hardcore Morris Dancers :D

'We Built This City' by Jefferson Airplane/Starship.

Gah! What a horrible song!

The last few month's was 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' by Bonnie Tyler. Thank God that one's over.

And I thought "Music Box Dancer" was bad....

On a related note... I remember taking a family vacation where we had to drive nine hours to wherever it was we were going. My dad was driving and all us kids were sleeping in the back of the van. I fell asleep to "We Built This City" and two hours later woke up to "We Built This City." Horrible, HORRIBLE memory! Yes, my dad has a habit of repeating songs over and over and over again. He did that with "Gloria" too. I guess that's where the kids got their play-a-song-till-you're-sick-of-it habit. Ack!

the kids choir bit in "The Wizard of Menlo Park" by Chumbawumba. its a really beautiful little bit that.

Is that the one that goes along the lines of "We built this city on rock and boooooooooone"? Because I had to endure that on Radio Antenne for the past week

Total Eclipse of the Heart of course.

...Turn around bright eyes, every no and then I fall apart, turn around bright eyes, every now and then I fall apart, and I need you now tonight, and I need you more than ever, and If you'll only hold me tight, we'll be holding on forever. And we'll only be making right, cause we'll be wrong, together we can take it to the end of the line, your love is like a shadow on me all of the time, i don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark, we're living in a powder keg giving off sparks. I really need you tonight, forever ever's gonna start tonight, orever ever's gonna start tonight.

Once upon a time I was falling in love, there is nothing I can do, a total eclipse of the heart. Once upon there was light in my life, now there's only light in the dark. Nothing I can say, a total eclipse of the heart.

Music.....

Turn Around Bright Eyes -Every now and then I fall apart, ...Turn Around Bright eyes -Everynow and then I fall apart, And I need you now tonight, and I need you more than ever, and if you'll only hold me tight, we'll be holding on forerver....

Ok, enough

Its a great song and you all know it! You just want to admit it

I thought it was "We built this city on rock and roooooooolllllll". Did I miss a joke or something? I'm so tired today (actually tired this whole week).....

Last years thread... :)

Dead or Alive's "You spin me right round" still gets stuck every now and then...

Even worse is this one that sneks in from time to time:

Bad boys, bad boys
Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do
When they come for you
[repeat...indefinitely]

I got a cure for that... or maybe a way to get it to stick even better... download me (31.5 MB) or maybe same band 10 years ago: Google video :D

Some times I feel I got to... run away... :D :D :D

Right now, it is Drive Away (end title) by Thomas Newman, which is on the Lemony Snicket soundtrack. Great tune, very repetitive and catchy.

Thank god it's not Starship. That sucks.:p

Thank you. I really appreciate the fact that now it's been transferred to my head. Great. "Like a record, baby..." Thanks again.

:D

Today for some reason it's Hypnotize by System of a Down - surely it was the last song I heard on the radio :p

Why don't you ask the kids at Tiananmen Square
Was fashion the reason why they were there?
They disguise it, hypnotize it
Television made you buy it

every day is exactly the same

i believe i can see the future
'cause i repeat the same routine
i think i used to have a purpose
but then again
it might have been a dream

i think i used to have a voice
now i never make a sound
and i just do what i've been told
i really don't want
them to come around, oh no

every day is exactly the same
every day is exactly the same
there is no love here, and there is no pain
every day is exactly the same

i can feel their eyes are watching
in case i lose myself again
sometimes i think i'm happy here (sometimes)
sometimes, yet i still pretend

i can't remember how this got started
but i can tell you
exactly how it will end

every day is exactly the same
every day is exactly the same
there is no love here, and there is no pain
every day is exactly the same

i'm writing on a little piece of paper
i'm hoping someday you might find
well i'll hide it behind something
they won't look behind

i am still inside you
a little bit comes bleeding through
i wish this could have been any other way
but i just don't know
i don't know what else i can do

every day is exactly the same
every day is exactly the same
there is no love here, and there is no pain
every day is exactly the same
every day is exactly the same
every day is exactly the same
there is no love here, and there is no pain
every day is exactly the same

It won't work.
Try it again now... it was a long (slow) upload... ;)

You might have to download and run it outside of the browser (Firefox didn't like the avi, haven't tried in Safari). Either way, the older Google video version should work...
