The app store really needs a "shopping cart" feature.
So that while browsing apps, you can just add the app to your cart, continue browsing, and download your whole cart at the same time.

eg. your looking through apps, than you find something that you like.. but you also see another app you'd like to download. But once you download the first app, go back to the app store, and your now stuck at the top of the list, and have to find the app all over again.

    Not with a "shopping cart".:apple:

Great idea, it's much needed! I think the App Store needs a clear-out of all the crappy useless and badly designed apps on there! Oh, and also, they should combine Lite and Full versions in one page of the App Store... Much cleaner interface IMO...

I too would like to have a shopping cart functionality added to the app store! I wonder if the reason it hasn't been implemented is because app prices can fluctuate at the developers whim; I'm not sure how the shopping cart would handle price changes.

I want a shopping cart too, but for a different reason. You say it'll fix said problem, but a)it may not and b)even if it does, the problem shouldn't be there in the first place. It's a bug. I want a shopping cart because there's a bunch of apps that I'm waiting on until they're updated and get better reviews.

How would a shopping cart solve that particular problem? Seems to me that would be more of a hassle when you actually want to purchase something, I think something like a watch or wish list would be a much better solution.

I would like to see a search function that does a search for only that category that your in.

IE: Your in the App store, search for the words only in the app store and not everything which includes music, movies and so forth.

And who decides what is crappy, useless and badly designed?

It definitely needs filters for things like popular, new, et cetera. I don't even check that stuff anymore, pointless seeing the same apps on 'what's new' for two months straight. I use web sites nowadays. The app store has really just become a bloated 'App Download' program.

Thats like 95% of the app store, there'd be very little left!

A shopping cart would be great- I've wanted one for the iTunes Music Store for as long as I can remember.

It's like cut and paste, bluetooth headphone support or MMS- one of those obvious things that Apple should provide, but doesn't.

To Liptonlover's point a shopping cart can be used as a watch or a wish list (provided that you remove unwanted items before clicking the purchase button). I've used the shopping cart in iTunes in the past as a way for me to track the music I may want to purchase, then when I want to buy I can review the tracks again, check the total cost and then delete tracks I might not really want.

Better yet shopping carts might be better off with the ability to only buy a select number of items in the shopping cart and keep the remaining items still in there...

Err isn't that what I said?

Even with the situation you described a separate watch list would be more useful even if there was a shopping cart then you could move items between both to determine what your final purchase ould be.

Shopping Cart is a good idea.

I would also like to see tabs so I can search for like items and compare them easily.
