The point is being able to work all day and have the phone at home when I am off work with zero wait time

because you waited too long. They only have so many phones ready for launch (and the sold a million so far, so they had a lot). The preorder is basically apple guaranteeing that as soon as more phones are in stock, they'll send you one. They don't owe you something for them being sold out. They told you when it would come when you ordered. If they promised you it by the 14th, and it didn't come then, then maybe, MAYBE there'd be a reason for them to do something for you.

13 year old got his dad's credit card, preordered an iPhone way too late, then snuck online to make a post about it.

they should make it up to us somehow.

they already did........by sparing us the wait in line, crowd, sales people, drive to the store, and allowing us to go on with our day. Not to mention, most of us were able to get the phone of our choice instead of having to choose from whatever's leftover at local stores.

Don't think they owe me anything more.

Love it when people who preorder bitch about not getting their phone delivered til end of day or even next day. They expect to get it at 8am.

When many who wait in line without preordering will get theirs before many of those who preorder.

Judging by the fever fanfare and the importance many put on it, the "it's just a phone" argument is long gone

Like the restaraunt reference above, if you wait to long to make your reservation, you have to wait longer.

I'm confused. Did it say it would ship by 10/14 while you were buying it? Or did you buy it, check your order status, it said "Delivers Oct 14 via Standard Shipping" then after a few days it changed to 10/21?
