Hey guys, I was wondering what time people are planning on going to Apple Stores to pick up a copy of the new OS. The stores here in the UK open at 10am and I have never been to a product launch before so what time do you recommend I start queuing in order to be near the front (first 20ish maybe?).

I will be going to the Sheffield, Meadowhall store in the UK by the way.

Thanks

Don't count on it being a major release, or a release party at all. Thats What I have been told.

So I WILL buy it tomorrow, but in the evening time on my way back from a theme park :D

I don't think it's going to be a big event, even Apple don't seem to be making much fuss about it.

I'm getting mine in the afternoon after I finish work. I think if you turn up just before 10 you won't have to hang around too long.

Sometime mid-afternoon. I won't be queuing. Just going to pop down to the store after I do everything else that needs done. Don't even know if I'll install tomorrow. Will definitely be reading up on Macrumors tomorrow for known issues before I go ahead with an install.

Since the nearest Apple Store is 70 miles away, I will not be going there to get my copy. I will however be going to Best Buy to purchase the family pack. I'll do that after my homework is done, and I go to the doctor.

You just want to go and see the cute brunette at the Bullring store!!!

I am planning on strolling in when I get there, and pick up a copy and leave.
Nothing special.
It's not hardware.
And it seems like normal users are that psyched about it, so if there is a crowd, it won't be too big.

I'll get it from Merry Hill if they are getting it tomorrow. I only venture into Brum if I've got no other choice. ;)

Its a reseller in Merry Hill isnt it?
I'd rather get it from there too but whats this about a brunette in the bullring store :)

Could be making a trip there instead!

No, they really aren't are they? Whats strange is that the iPhone ads over the last few days have been almost annoying, they are so frequent....

Maybe its just Apple anticipating the SL sales? and forking some dough over for commercials? :p

Yes, it's upstairs next to M&S.

The staff aren't as pretty, but it'll save me a couple of hours if I can get it from Merry Hill.

I'm not.

That's why we have pre-orders for. I'll gladly wait until UPS or FEDEX to drop off my package. If it arrives tomorrow great, if not, it will be here monday. I'm looking forward to it, but as others stated, its a major release and I'm not going to lose any sleep if it fails to arrive tomorrow. I lived this long without it, another couple of days won't kill me.

My friend who works in the bull ring thinks it might be a 6pm launch to co-inside with the us stores? But they aren't able to confirm. Anyone heard anything similar?

I haven't heard anything yet... but I will go to my local Apple Retail Store (which is only about 15 minutes away from my workplace) as soon as work's done. Can't go any earlier because they don't open early enough.

I called the BullRing store this morning and they said it was just going to be a normal sale. No t-shirts or special launch. I may get it first thing, depends where I am.

It's a pretty good shop at Merry Hill, just a pity you have to suffer Merry Hill.

I was in there on Tuesday buying a new battery for my MBP and they said they would be opening as normal and selling from when they open at 10am. Bit fed up that I ordered my copy from the Apple store. I work 2 minutes from the Bullring but thought they would be doing the silly 6pm thing.

If the Apple Store were giving away t-shirts, like they have in the past, I'd be there. Alas, I just ordered it this time.
