    Hi all,

I am looking to get rid of my piece of garbage HP laptop and buy my first mac. I know MBP's are about to be updated but I am not interested in spending that type of money on a laptop. I feel the Macbook will fit my needs well. (Office, internet, itunes)

I want to buy sometime in the near future when the back-to-school sale starts so I can get a free ipod along with it.

Do you think the Macbook will be updated sometime during or before that sale?

Historically they come out on Tuesday. I hope that helps, :D.

If my memory serves me the last few MacBook updates have been pretty random.

Historical information for all product lines is available from the Buyer's Guide.

Does anyone know if Apple is still going to do the "buy a macbook, get a free ipod" this summer?

I'm sure before school starts again in the fall they will be doing something like that.
