How about Founder and CEO or Founder and President or Founder and Sales Director? I've seen the first two several times, specially when dealing with small(-ish) startups

Oooh. This is one I worked on for myself.

I find that your company name should tell people what to expect and I don't put a title by my name. I think its classy that way.

Fuhrer :) make it damn clear who the boss is!

I see your Fuhrer and raise you a Pharaoh :)

back on topic, I'd skip the "ownership" because you don't know who your partners or shareholders will be in 2 years, and stick to the real job you have today.

Managing Director
Sales Manager
Director of Sales

in portuguese we just say "Director Comercial" and that can include anything from sales, purchasing, marketing... never seen in english though...

Chief Executive Officer
Executive Director
Managing Director
The Boss

Of my personal favourite, 'The Big Cheese'

Putting 'The Big Cheese' shows customers that you're friendly :p

You could always put HMFIC! ;)

Seriously, there have been many great comments already.

To add... If this is your first business, you might try this. Make up a few cards using Word or something simple and try out the different titles. Then you and your partner practice on each other, or maybe a close friend or two, and see what makes sense to you.

Nothing like really seeing it in print before going final.

Once you decide what is best, then you can go order your real cards. Saves money this way. Plus it gives you a chance to feel what it will be like.

Also, there may be times when you want different cards for different occasions/purposes. In some cases Co-Owner and President will apply, in others Director of Marketing, etc. may apply. So you might find that having multiple business cards would be beneficial. But if you go this route, make sure you have multiple e-mail addresses so that it makes sense.

Nothing like seeing a business card having the title owner with a sales@something.com e-mail address!

I agree with the multiple business cards- there may be instances where you want to make it very clear you are the "big cheese" so to speak. Others you may want more marketing or other focus.

Printing them out on a printer is a great idea as well!~

Honestly, just go with your name - no title.

For someone to put CEO/CFO/President etc.. just sounds pretty pretentious and laughable when they are infact from a small start up.

If you insist on putting a title however, go with Founder. :)
