What to buy?? (I have Amex points)

So I've been dragging my feet (for a variety of reasons) on getting a new Mac. My "main desktop" is a 2015 iMac that is on its last legs. I got a 14" M1 Pro with 16gb/1tb over a year ago. But its ram & storage aren't really enough to become my "main" computer.

I just found out that I can convert my Amex points into $3200 of Apple gift cards, so my question is: do I get an M1 studio? A 16" M1 Max refurb? Or wait to see what gets announced this month? I think any of these should meet my needs.

Do you need it now? I would wait if this is going to be the main computer. I usually buy the latest if it’s going to be my main computer for a long time.
