Well if you don't think the EVO is so great now, then why would you chose it? It's unlikely that it will suddenly become great. Anyway, best waiting until Monday to see what else Apple are bringing to the table before you decide if the 25% discount is really worth it for a phone you might not like as much.

It's nice, but needs to be polished. Plus it's hard playing with the phone since it's bolted to a retractable steel cable at Sprint.

Anyone who is remotely interested in the iPhone and is making their decision before it's even shown...only bad can come of it. Just wait and see. You clearly prefer the iPhone so wait for that and get it.

Yeah, I know that feeling, I considered buying a Palm Pre when they released here in the UK, but it was bolted to a damn stand so I couldn't get a good feel for it at all. If I were you though, I would certainly wait, I loved my 3G, so upgrading the hardware (and software to some extent) is only a plus.

By posting here, you want us to convince you that the iPhone is still a better option. Don't think twice about it, go with your guts. ;)

I got the job at Sears today, and just got back from the Sprint store and played with the Evo. They told me I'd get a 25% discount on my monthly bill since I work at Sears now and I seriously doubt ATT will match this. However the Evo isn't so great really, and the new iPhone should be alot better. Please help me decide, Thanks! :)

Go to an AT&T corporate store and ask if they have discounts with Sears...

my opininon

i think you should just wait until monday. even if the evo is cheaper, theres no point of having something you dont truly love.

Check with your benefits. I highly dobut they will match employer discounts unless they infact have a deal with them.

Sears should have a listing of everything an employee can get a discount on if ATT is listed go with them.

but like others said wait a few extra days. The iphone may stay on ATT or it may go with others. We don't know yet. (If jobs were any smart he'll open it to other cariers. At the rate apple is going I sort of see it happen)

Agreed, waiting 2 more days  ( rounded )

Exactly, you might as well wait until Monday and see what the new iPhone will offer before making your choice, you would be foolish to just go out and buy the EVO with only a few days before the iPhone announcement.

Why do you feel the need to have strangers on a forum convince you on what phone/provider you should use? You just got a job...now is the time when being an adult is a big deal.....you get to make your OWN decisions! Give it a try and see how it works out for you.
